2021 Wedding Date

FutureBride2021, on September 3, 2020 at 3:45 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

We might possibly be choosing a date in 2021, is anyone else having major anxiety about this decision? We are already planning on having a "minimony" but I am so worried things won't go back to normal before then when most of my family is coming from NY where they have a required quarantine.

My fiancé and I are having a minimony in October and our big wedding is in March. Try not to stress too much as it’s beyond our control!

I was the same way at first and almost didn't want to start planning anything.. but then realized that there really isn't anything we can do and putting our lives on hold isn't an option! So we jumped in full speed ahead.

Our wedding is February. We're moving forward because there's really no telling if or when this will all be over.

I wouldn't necessarily be worried about this returning to normal at this point. I'd be more worried about finding venues and vendors because you're going to have to compete with not only 2021 brides but all the brides that postponed by 2021. Plus right now it looks like the vaccine might be done by December/February so I'm choosing to have hope that it will be under control.

    Hello brides,

Our wedding was due October 17, 2020 and I postponed for March 2021. I mailed wedding invites and added a covid note (new date and that I will be mailing out second round of invites in the fall season. People are calling and asking oh, “but of course “people don’t reaD”. I am nervous! I just finished my second invites and plan to mail end September. I hope venue doesn’t have restrictions For March 17, 2021.
All the best to all of you

I’m October 2021, postponed from October of this year. I have faith next year will look better. Plus I’m not putting my life on hold for another year so next October I’m getting married no matter what the world looks like.

We started planning for out big wedding in April 2021 however we have been very careful to make sure that our venue and vendors are flexible in the dates if the pandemic continues. If anything we plan on getting married on our original date and then have a renewal in 2022 if we couldn’t have our true vision of the day

I’m in the same exact boat! If we’re going to spend almost the same amount of money regardless, I’d rather wait a year and have a reception my guests will actually enjoy without masks and social distancing!

I think it's very normal to be apprehensive about how things will be next year. If you stick with a small event and flexible plan, I would be cautiously optimistic and plan for 2021 if it is important for you to get married soon. If the timeframe of the wedding is less important than it being a "normal" wedding that can happen as you planned, I'd err on shooting for a 2022 date or later.
