2021 brides is Covid-19 effecting your planning in budget

Jazmin, on April 1, 2020 at 12:56 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8
I feel so sorry for the 2020 brides. My wedding is supposed to be 6/19/2021, but with everything going on it's been impossible to plan. Plus I own three childcare centers attendance is down but still trying to keep employees so not a lot of extra money! Thankfully my fiance government job hasn't been affected. I literally have nothing planned so I'm trying to decide to rush it when all this is over or wait until 2022.

We are 4/22/2021 and covid really hasn’t affected our planning. We pretty much booked everything before this whole thing started. I’m not working currently but my fiancé is able to work from home, but both our parents are helping pay for the wedding so we are super thankful for that

We are paying for our wedding ourselves and how COVID has affected us financially has me second guessing about having a big wedding. My husband owns a barbershop which we’ve had to close for the past three weeks, who knows when we’d be able to open again, and even then business won’t be the same. So, with that being said, you are not alone. I don’t think our venue will give us our deposit back being that our wedding date is 9/2021. If they would I would cancel and have an intimate wedding. For now though ill keep my hopes up and I’m considering a smaller wedding to decrease expenses. Ugh... this sucks.

COVID-19 has definitely affected our planning! We were waiting to book the caterer until we had the finances and now that we do, none of the caterers are available! 2020 brides have postponed and I have seen many of them pick the date our fiancé and I have already booked and planned on. Its tough but we are just continuously reaching out to different caterers hoping someone is available. If not, Im not sure what we will do!

    Hi Jazmin,

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this, and I know the uncertainty of everything is crazy stressful!!

You are definitely not alone right now! We've started gathering initial tips and resources from WeddingWire here: COVID-19 Wedding Support Central.

Have you considered touring venues virtually? A lot of venues are offering virtual tours that will allow you to see your potential venues up close.

Not to mention, some vendors are even offering discounts to keep business flowing their way! If you begin booking things now, not only will you be helping small businesses but you will also be saving a little money!

    I hope this helps!

    Smiley heart

Thankfully, both my fiancee and I are considered essential workers so we haven't had to run into huge financial issues as of yet, but it definitely has effected my wedding planning. I was just barely able to reserve my wedding date for February of 2021, since our venue has closed due to the whole ordeal. I just can't wait till things start opening again because that's when I can move into the next phase of planning which involves picking out my wedding dress.

My date is 4/3/21 and ALL of this has affected my planning, mostly because the childcare center I worked at is closed and we won't be able to afford our wedding if I don't figure out something soon Smiley cry Planning wise, I can get done what I need to right now, luckily I had already picked out and ordered my dress, but otherwise, it's a question of whether to elope or... I don't really know.

That sucks my state is still letting childcare centers operate, for now anyway. I think as long as everything is back to normal by the end of summer we should be fine.

A lot of daycares are still open, ours shut down specifically because had parents exposed to the virus coming into the school so our owners shut down for the time being. Hopefully come summer we’ll be open again.
