2021 Brides: how far are you in wedding planning?

Llcool_Kay, on June 25, 2020 at 8:35 AM Posted in Community Conversations 1 14
We got engaged in April (yes a COVID engagement) lol we are still moving forward with plans and our wedding is set for July 2021. How far is everyone else in their wedding planning? So far we’ve booked venue, ceremony musicians, photo booth and we are booking photographer soon.

Ours is February 2021. We got engaged October 2018. We've just finalized the decision to change our venue so we will be booking that pretty soon. It comes with the DJ, catering/open bar, and lighting and decor. We will also have a dessert table! So all that will be taken care of at one place.

We already have our photographer booked who will also be doing video. We only need photo booth (if we choose) and possibly flowers. Our save the dates and invites are already selected and we will be purchasing those hopefully by Monday.

I was in October 11, 2020 bride but with this Covid I totally stopped planning all together I was able to get my dress before lockdown and my daughters dress also everything is now being pushed the venue and the DJ along with the photographer and the Minister. Now that I rescheduled for April 17, 2021 now I can start getting all my stuff as far as centerpieces the rest of my bridesmaid dresses schedule my hair and make up appointment it’s like I’m starting all over again since I did a big pause because I had a feeling it was not gonna happen this October i’m upset but then I’m happy because I also had a fire July of last year and to be moving in possibly next month I think it would’ve been a big rush to get everything finalized so now I get to breathe a little bit . I got a stick to my original plan because I feel like with the more time I might switch everything up

I'm an August 2021 bride! We booked our venue which also includes bar services and catering. We also have our DJ and photographer. Our officiant is a family friend who is a pastor. I've also bought my dress. We have started our guest list and centerpiece designs. Also we have started looking bakers for our cake and FH is looking into tuxes.

With so many brides having to postpone to 2021 I wanted to do as much as possible, as soon as possible to make sure we can use who we want. In our searching for DJs we had two that already had the date booked. Also one bakery already was booked that day as well, which makes me glad we were proactive with planning.

I'm also hoping that with planning this all now I'll be less frazzled when 2021 comes.

Mine is June 2021! We already have our venue, DJ, videographer, and I’m doing fiftyflowers.com for my floral which ive already ordered! Next I think I’m going to try to work on the accomodations. Accomodations in my opinion are tricky because I don’t know how many people will RSVP to need accomodations But I still want to be able to reserve rooms ahead of time without them getting booked. Trying to get my save the dates done next week and get those sent out probably in the next week or two hopefully more depending on whenever they come in hopefully in the next three weeks.Still have to figure out dress shopping, but I think I may start looking in September.

Ours is August 2021. We've booked the venue (comes with in house caterer), event designer/florist, photographer, videographer, DJ, and Photo Booth. Still need to get officiant, hair stylist and MUA. We basically booked all the major things and are now working on smaller details. Sounds like you're doing the same. Happy Planning!

We also had a quarantine engagement! So far, we're hired a planner and set our venue & date (November 6, 2021), with plans to set up some sort of meeting with florists and photographers next month.

WFH has actually made this early stage of planning pretty easy for us - we have so much more time flexibility!

I am nervous about dress shopping with the pandemic still going on, but have a few months before I need to start trying to figure that out...

We also got engaged during Covid and during April at that haha We're also getting married July 2021 and so far we have our venue (it has food so that's scratched off too), my uncle does music, flowers are being taken care of by my Nana & officiant (which will be my pastor). Right now, I'm looking into the types of favors and kids activities I want & am getting things as I see them, so gift boxes/tags/etc and working with a friends to set up a photo wall.

I haven't gone dress shopping yet (trying to drop a few more pounds before I make an appt lol), just been searching online for styles I may like. Oddly, I'm not stressed yet because thus far we've gotten a lot taken care of thanks to family.

Looks like you've gotten a lot taken care of so far!

Our venue comes with in house catering and bar service as well. My parents are pastors so they have pastor friends LOL who will be officiating. Trying to do it all now so that I won’t be in panic mode come 2021

Yes so many people have been making us feel like we are rushing and we’ve been explaining to them that most of the 2020 couples are pushing things back to 2021 so things are getting booked. FAST! So glad others are on the same page as us lol

I’m not stressed yet either surprisingly! *fingers crossed of course* we are also utilizing family for a few things. My uncle will be officiating more than likely and my FH is Hawaiian so his family wants to order flowers from there so they’re covering that as well. So far so good lol happy planning!

Yeah do not let anyone convince you you are rushing! I remember that I booked dress appointments in February (appointment was in June) and I blinked and it was a week before! Also you want to have options. If you waited till later in 2020 or even early 2021 there is no guarantee of options depending on the area. I've been lucky that most of my family and friends know I'm a crazy planner, so the idea of us having all that we do set doesn't surprise anyone. Even without Covid going on I most likely would be at this stage in planning lol.
