Who else is getting married in 2+ years? How much planning have you actually done so far? I’m getting married on December 31, 2020 and I feel so lost with planning (or even getting all of my ideas straight) since my wedding is so far away. Anyone else feeling this way?

    Hey JLyn!!

It's crazy how some vendors book up so fast!! What types of vendors have you two booked so far?

We were able to get an invitation designer/specialist, photographer and videographer, and a florist. Now we are still looking for a DJ , MUA, etc. Smiley laugh

Our wedding is 10-10-2020! We booked our venue in September 2018. They will also do our catering so one less thing to worry about! Up until this past week we have not done any more planning. I started to message photographers, DJs, videographers and some bakeries to get pricing. We are going to book our photographer in the next month! I feel like the planning is finally starting to become fun!

I am getting married in October, 2020 and I am right there with you, so lost with planning! We have looked at a venue and intend to book it within the next few weeks, and we have requested pricing on everything we think we need, but I feel like it's so early to start planning. We have been to bridal shows and made out guest list, picked our bridal party, but I feel like with an October wedding I can never book anything "to soon."

Hi Rachel!! That's awesome, it sounds like you already have the big stuff crossed off or about to be! When are you going to start dress shopping?

That's a good point, I feel like the things you can book early on are the venue, photographer and caterer! What venue have you been looking at?

We're having a destination wedding on June 5, 2020 in Riviera Maya. So far, we've drafted the guest list and sent out a survey to gauge who is likely to come (so far it's turning out to be more than we thought!). We've booked our travel agent and reserved our date with the venue. We'll be securing our room block for the resort soon. Once that's done, we won't start working with our event consultant until around this upcoming March with more full fledge wedding planning happening in October. Meanwhile, I'm budgeting and saving. Co-workers have told me I'm ahead of the game but because it is destination, I wanted to leave plenty of time (and patience) for hiccups. All of this and guess what?? I still feel lost and, lately, overwhelmed. You can never be too ahead of the game but make sure you're still having fun. It's meant to be a beautiful time, not a stressful one. Take a breath, make a timeline, and allow yourself to celebrate milestones and enjoy the process. Happy planning everyone!

Were getting married on May 28th, 2020. We’re going to put down the security deposit on the venue within the next couple of days and have already made the guest list. Already know the colors, but not the shades of the colors

I’m getting married January 17, 2020. I’m less than a year out by now! I have my dress, the Church and Venue, bridesmaids dresses picked out, men’s suits picked out and the bridal party picked out. I still have a lot of work to do!

I’m getting married 10/30/20 and I feel like the photographer prices are a lot more than expected but I don’t know if that’s normal pricing or if I’m just not looking in the right places

That's great advice, Anessa!! It can be very overwhelming sometimes, but it's good to take a step back and remember why you are doing all of it! A wedding in Riviera Maya will be gorgeous! That's awesome that you have the venue and what not booked and ready to go!

Hey Maura! Depending on what area you are in, photographers can be pretty pricey! On average, couples spend between $1,200-3,000 on a photographer!
