Hey ladies, What cake flavors are you guys thinking of? Are you going for an old fashion look? Fondant? Or the new naked? I myself am not a big fan of fondant and have seriously been considering the naked cake. Im having some doubts being that I didn't plan on keep all tiers the same flavor. Hmmm......

We aren't a huge fan of frosting so we might go with a whipped cream if available. I'm imagining a 3 tier blueberry-lemon, coconut, and vanilla cake!

I really want a "bling" cake. My colors are tourqoise and purple with silver accents. I was thinking of getting a little purple and tourqoise coloring on the cake but the whole cake will be white. Until I read this, I never even thought of having a different flavor or every their!! That's a great idea!! I'm using these pics as inspiration, but I really have no idea yet!! If I go with the middle pic, I would do purple icing on the middle tier and have the top and bottom tourqoise. Or if I go with the bling cakes maybe add some of the teal and purple dendrobium orchids. Idk...thank God I have 18 months till the wedding!!

I am actually not having a wedding cake because my fiancé and I are not huge fans of cake so at our wedding we are having a dessert bar. The only cake we are having will have our cake topper on it and will be saved for our one year anniversary.

Thank you!! My wedding has a ton of glitter & sparkle so I had to highlight that in my cake too! I agree $608 was a great price!! Most places were $800-$1,000 for what I wanted. The lady I went with has amazing tasting cakes so I'm so pleased with my choice!

I don't like fondant either, I do want each tier a different flavor.

I love icing and the only type of fondant I like is marshmallow fondant that I make. So I’m between just lots of icing or fondant. I know I can’t do naked cause I need more icing than that lol. I am thinking of doing a white cake and a coconut and making the cake myself. I used to bake cakes for competitions and I know I could easily make my own.
im just not sure it’s something I want to do. I am pretty sure those will be the flavors we use though

I don't have any definite plans yet but I like the idea of doing a small cake and donuts.

We are doing a dessert station instead. Maybe a little cake for cutting but mainly just mini desserts.

We're having a two tier cake that will be lemon with butter cream frosting and cream cheese filling. We're also having a desert bar. We will have peacock toppers and tartan ribbon tied around the bottom of the layers with blue flowers and green pedals decorating the top of the bottom layer.

We will be having a light butter cream 2 tier cake with pastel flowers and eucalyptus. FH and dad think you shouldn't have to peal a cake, lol so fondant was out, and I am not a huge fan of the naked cakes.

The top layer will be a lemon cake and the bottom will be vanilla cake with freeh strawberries for the filling Smiley smile

White chocolate buttercream icing with almond amaretto cake with strawberry filling. It'll be a 3 tier square cake with rose gold and black edible beads on it.

I am going with a traditional buttercream. Our tiers will be different flavors and fillers but the outside will be a white buttercream.

We are have a Tangled themed wedding so for my cake I want to incorporate the purples and yellows, and maybe some lanterns. I definitely want a lemon filling but the future hubbs isn't a big fan so we will probably be doing 2 different flavors.

    I'm getting 3 flavors,

    1. Almond cake with passion fruit cream filling

    2. Ultimate Chocolate with regular cream filling

    3. Piña colada cake

We will be using a "dummy cake" at the cake table that looks exactly like my chosen cake and the actual cakes will be kept in the back for cutting and serving.

I chose to do this because I wanted the fondant look but didn't want to serve the cake with fondant, just buttercream. It also yields more cake as they are baked in sheets.

Here is a picture of my inspiration cake.

We found a local baker who makes an AMAZING s’mores cake. So what we decided to do was instead of getting a huge cake, we’re doing a small one for each table!!!!
