We're actually opting out of the traditional wedding cake and doing donuts instead! We will have a small, blackberry cake to cut for pictures. We're thinking a naked cake, or textured icing look!

Thank you so much! This cake is just for vision. It's someone else's beautiful cake. Im unsure of flavors because I was thinking out of the box and was thinking of mixing the naked cake with a cheesecake tier in between. Im concerned about the density of the cheesecake versus the cake though. Depending with how many guest we stick with I may do a 4 tier cake but as of now I was thinking 3 tiers, not too big.

I too have heard this. One of my main concerns for to keep the moisture being that I know the cake isn't made prior to the wedding day.

I know someone who did this and it was a really big hit! She actually did a donut truck outside of the venue for everyone to go home with. They were in paper boxes with their faces printed on top in cartoon form. Go for it!!!!

I know we want this look incorporated maybe as the top and have the two tiers below in just white and blush respectively, but with the same texture. I'm actually just considering having them do a mock cake and having short cake in the back for serving. May allow us to have more flavors.

I agree! Fondant accomplish alot of looks for cakes!! I love love love the look but.... hard pass for me! I also love the square look. If I wasn't considering a cheesecake tier I think I would've went with a square naked cake. Either way I hope its all delish and you guys enjoy it!

Yes, I agree! That is my main reason for posting this. I also think the different color exposed tier would look funny and tacky. Hmmm, thank you for that thought! something I may consider if budget is looking good. Thats a really good idea, I appreciate that!

Hmmmm, thats something to consider 🤔. I just didn't want to have to buy boxes too unless I was going to prepackage them for everyone to take. I don't know! Lol I'll keep you posted on the turn out but, I do hope you enjoy your big day!!

We are doing a vanilla cake with Moses berry purée, lemon frosting, and mixed berries then just powered sugar on top
