2 garters...what to do??

Terri, on July 6, 2013 at 11:33 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

I have a2 garter set. Do both get removed or just the one to be tossed? If both get removed and one is tossed then what do we do with the other one? Does hubby wear it on his arm? Or what?

Only the one to be tossed is to be removed for the garter toss. The other one stays on until you (or he) removes it once you get back to the bedroom Smiley winking

You wear both and toss the smaller- not as nice looking one usually. The other one is usually your keepsake .. lol that was funny wearing it on the arm! Hahaha something my FI will do!

You dont have to have a garter toss though... Its just a fun option.. If you dont no one will miss it.. Or if you want to and just dont like wearing it.. You can run and slip it on right before the garter toss (since you'll know the time line) and after just slip it off, no biggie =)

Maybe it's a cultural thing or something, but I was surprised to see that some of you seemed caught off guard about the groom wearing it on his arm. At the weddings I've been to, the groom throws the garter and whoever catches it wears it on their left arm, midway between the shoulder and the elbow for the rest of the festivities. It wasn't until I joined WW that I ever heard of the thrown garter being put on the woman who catches the bouquet. Interesting...

If you hate wearing it but want the garter toss try this. Right before garter toss have hubby tuck garter in his.coat sleeve. Put hands up dress pull garter out of sleeve and throw. That's how I'm gonna do it cause I don't want someone to catch a sweaty garter Haha
