$15k wedding

Joanna, on February 12, 2022 at 10:25 AM Posted in Planning 0 12
Has anyone here in the DMV been able to have a beautiful wedding for $15k? Why do I feel like it’s nearly impossible 😞 I did find art factory studios in Jersey on HereComesTheGuide.com waiting for a reply…I love it so much.

Yeah that’s impossible!!! I tried sooo hard! Our top budge is 22,000 and that’s exactly were we’re at! We have no wiggle room! It’s so annoying and so expensive

You can try looking just outside of the DMV area and the prices are a lot cheaper. Cities always seem to have higher prices than small towns. I am from Central Virginia and our wedding is going to be about $8k. My specific venue is 2 hours south of DC but there are lots of options in between here and there.

Don't loose all hope yet but you might have to make a decision between your location and your budget.

Best way to save money is to have a smaller guest list. Calculate up the price per guest, it's actually a lot!

I agree with this. We live in Nashville which is also expensive. All of our vendors came from outside the city with our venue being 45 min away. We stayed under 13k.

I believe the art factory begins at $8000 for weddings during non-peak months.

Our budget is $10K! I agree that venue and guest list really eat away at your budget. I recommend looking for venues that aren’t designated as specific wedding venues but are still beautiful places Smiley smile

We had our wedding in the DMV (Baltimore suburb) and our highest expense by far was catering, so if you can find a venue that allows you to bring in any caterer (most we found had in-house or a small list of approved caterers) and/or keep your guest list to your nearest and dearest, you can totally make a 15k budget work!

We also saved some money by DIY-ing florals (we arranged our own centerpieces but bought bouquets, etc. from a florist) and shopping around a LOT for vendors (check out wedding expos - we got a discount on our DJ from one).

There is a venue just outside Nashville in Mount Juliet called Iriswoods. They give all-inclusive, full planning, florals, catering, pretty much everything (w/ exception of few things), for $15k (up to 150 ppl). Less people, less money. Haven't heard anything bad about them yet.
