Hey Mary--I'm truly so sorry to hear that you're struggling with your brother's decision and with chronic illness! I actually suffer from crohn's as well as fibromayalgia and chronic migraines, so I empathize deeply with what you've shared with me. It's really sad when our suffering impedes people's judgement of how well we can function (and fake it!) for their comfort. I think you are totally entitled to your decision not to attend, and I hate that it's because of something so hurtful as using your illness against you. You're a good mom to want to protect your daughter from this type of drama, and I hope that after your brother's wedding is done, you can have a productive conversation about how much this experience affected you. Is there anyone else in your family who is more sympathetic to your sickness and could talk to our brother on your behalf? I wish I could give you a big hug! xoxo

Hi Selia, unfortunately, I am NOT the one getting married (I wish...lol). My brother is....but they have decided to not include my daughter and I....we are the only family members not being included in the wedding party; my brother has said that the decision was/is based solely off of my health (I have Crohn’s disease and Lupus). He still expects us to attend, just doesn’t want us to participate. Soooo...after reading and reaching out for several different opinions...my daughter and I have decided to not attend his wedding or even continue our relationship with him. He was in my wedding (years ago) and have always backed him up and b en there for him. This kid me of drama is simply something that I do not care to have in my life or my daughters life; it’s also not the way that you treat Family. If you’ve had any feedback or experience with this, your input it Pyle be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
