mini-cake centerpieces?? can't decide if its a bad idea or not...

my mom is a professional cake baker, so ofcourse shes making my wedding cake. I was thinking, instead of traditional flower/cylinder vases (which was my initial plan) for centerpieces why not cute mini cake centerpieces with really pretty sugar...
