Words cannot begin to describe how amazing the Pruyn House was for our wedding. We definitely lucked out with the weather. That in combination with how amazing Diane, Tami and all other staff at the House are the day was perfect and nothing went wrong. I had an issue with my rental company as I used a different one than the house suggested and Diane called for me and asked if they could bring me new chairs as the ones delivered were dirty and needed to be cleaned, they were unable to deliver new chairs but they refunded the cost of the chairs and more without me even contacting them, it was all thanks for diane! The grounds are beautifully kept and the inside of the house is magazine worthy for photos! If you're looking for a vintage/ rustic feel to your wedding, book the Pruyn house you will not be disappointed in the service you receive!

We had our dream wedding at the Pruyn House!!! Everything about the venue and the staff was so impressive. The grounds are breathtaking - the gardens were lush and in full bloom, and the barn was beautiful! My girls and I got ready in the Pruyn House, which was air conditioned and absolutely gorgeous as well. The photographer had a lot of fun taking some shots inside and out. The staff were extremely responsive and helpful from Day 1, and made the whole day go off without a hitch! Thank you all!!!

Let me start off by saying how beautiful this venue is. You have incredible gardens perfect for photographs. And then you have this gorgeously kept historical building, the barn and the schoolhouse. All grounds and buildings are immaculately kept and beautiful. The staff at the Pruyn House is outrageous. They helped us through every step of the process. They helped us work out all needs and requirements that were necessary for the venue. And when our officiant backed out on us a week or two before the event, they had a back up for us. And on our wedding day they made sure we were completely at ease and happy. They truly exceeded our expectations.

The historic Pruyn House is a beautiful place to have a wedding. Diane and her staff were wonderful with helping us plan our daughter's wedding! The grounds are beautifully kept and the garden was spectacular! We had a gorgeous day weather wise so we were able to have the ceremony and cocktail hour outside and dinner and dancing in the barn! You are also able to use the mansion to get ready and that was perfect!

How is this place not more widely known?? I spent my entire childhood in the capital district and never knew this place existed. This was the perfect venue for our barn wedding. The grounds and gorgeous and there are so many fun elements and photo ops to this place. We have a beautiful ceremony in front of the gardens and guests enjoyed mingling outside on the ground before dinner in the barn. The only draw back to this place is the limited capacity to the barn.If your looking for a smaller off-beat wedding this place is perfect. Diane and everyone at the Pruyn house were so wonderful and accommodating. My parents are now members and attend concerts they have here on wednesday nights!

Our August 2013 wedding at the Pruyn House was absolutely perfect, and it could not have been the same at a different venue. The Pruyn House is an exceptional historic site, and the flower garden and grounds were extraordinarily beautiful on the day of our wedding. The site does get booked up 1-2 years in advance, but we were able to reserve a Sunday date within eight months of our initial inquiry. We loved this venue because the price was reasonable, we could choose our own vendors, and it offered a shelter in case of inclement weather. We had wonderful weather, so we had our ceremony in front of the garden, and our reception in the barn. We had cocktail hour in the birch grove area in front of the barn, and bocce and croquet on the southeast lawn.

Diane, the curator of the Pruyn House, was very courteous and really accommodated us in helping us find a date and in allowing us to view the site on a holiday weekend because we are from out of town. She is really a lovely woman and we were glad to work with her. The groundskeeper who assisted with parking and site management on our wedding day was also wonderful and ensured that everything went smoothly.

The Pruyn House is a *magnificent* site for a summer wedding and I am so glad we found it for our celebrations. It was perfect for our simple outdoor wedding, but I would mention that some caterers may find it more challenging to use a venue that does not have a kitchen on site. Our caterer was Nicole's Catering, who work at the Pruyn House frequently and had no issues. We also worked with Intuition Events who frequently do decor and event planning at the Pruyn House, and that was also a great match. Our whole event went off without a hitch, we received so many compliments on the site, and were so glad to host it at such a wonderful site.

The Pruyn House was such a joy to work with, and all of our guests couldn't stop talking about what a beautiful venue it was. We had the best time working with Diane and everyone there. I would definitely recommend the Pruyn House for any local events, especially a wedding.

The Pruyn House was absolutely the ideal and perfect venue for our wedding. Diane was so helpful and kind when we went to take a look at the property and they had every detail covered from the very beginning. We could not have been happier with how everything turned out. Such a gorgeous venue for a wedding!! :)

Having our wedding at the Pruyn House was the best decision we made for our wedding! When searching for a venue, we weren't sure of exactly what we wanted until we came to this site. With its historic charm and beautiful gardens we fell in love instantly. The Pruyn House allows for so many amazing scenes for pictures. The only things you need to consider when booking here is that you will have to find a caterer to bring in to work at the site, it is an outside venue so weather can be challenging, and the barn has a capacity limit. But for us, it was the perfect place. All of our family and friends were taken in by its beauty and charm.

We had our wedding at the Pruyn House last Saturday and they were absolutely great! It was so nice having all day Friday to be at the venue to set things up as well as being able to come back Sunday morning to grab any items left there the night before. They also have pretty flexible rules minus the fact that we can't use sparklers, but I get it. The barn is beautiful and plenty spacious enough so long you layout your tables/chairs the correct way. We had seating for 96 guests, DJ, photo booth, sweetheart table, cake/dessert table and caterer buffet table all in the barn with still plenty of room to get around and dance! It was beautiful and everyone raved about the location! It's a very great price for a barn venue as well.

The setting of the house, barn, and gardens make for some beautiful pictures. We were able to stop in the day before and the day after to put up and take down personal touches. Very accommodating staff. Luckily we had gorgeous weather, but a rain plan is needed especially if the ceremony is held there.

This place is gorgeous - it serves multiple themes (rustic, historical, vintage, whimsical). and makes for great photos. Brides can get ready in the basement of the house while the Groom gets ready in the school. Diane is super helpful and always answers any questions that I might have quickly. They're also very flexible with times that you would like to set up/take down. There is a capacity for sit-down affairs in the barn of 136 people, but that's perfect for me and my under 100 guest list. Another benefit is that if there is a wedding the day before/after you can ask if the other bride wants to share decorations or services (like a tent).

The Pruyn House contains the Buhrmaster Barn out back and a beautiful garden. I got married outside in front of the gardens and had my reception in the Buhrmaster Barn. The actual house can be used for getting ready if you pay a little bit extra. I liked that because I (and my bridal party) had my own private bathroom and place to escape to if I needed a few minutes to myself. The Buhrmaster Barn is perfect and can be decorated in so many ways. My Florist put some custom lighting up and hung an iron chandelier. I planned it so that my ceremony was in the daylight and the reception would be ending in the dark. Towards the second half of my reception, I took out 100 blue, glow-stick necklaces and handed them out to guests. They looked so cool in the dark, candle-lit barn. The larger local caterers have experience serving/working at this venue and ours brought a service truck and parked it out back. The Pruyn House is 5 minutes from Wolf Road and several hotels. It's a bit pricey, but well worth the money.

Picking the Pruyn House for my wedding was the single best choice I made! It was absolutely beautiful...my guests felt like they were in a movie! It was super special...I was dead set on a unique venue, and I got it! But, I will say it is slightly on the expensive side, considering it doesnt include any catering, decorations, and you will probably want to rent better chairs/tables. But I will say it was totally worth it! Just hope for good weather, because the bathrooms are a short walk away. Also, you may need some bug spray but it will be needed if you want an outdoor wedding, no matter what your location is!

When we went to Pruyn House we knew it was where we wanted to get married. I wanted a barn wedding, with a wonderful outdoor feel. My husband wanted a rain plan with a well kept indoor venue that wasn't going to break our bank in terms of guest list. We had seating for 115 people using the rectangular tables they have and their folding chairs. You do have to (and get to) plan all the details yourself, and either hire or work as your own wedding coordinator for day of. Honestly, our wedding ended up so beautiful and the weather was perfect, people keep telling us how lovely it was and I give most of the credit to the Pruyn House and the staff who care for it. Well worth the cost, and easy to plan with.

Those were hard criteria for this location to meet. I essentially rented the location for the weekend. Then I decorated it. However I LOVED the location and my wedding turned out absolutly amazing. Pruyn House is so close to everything so it was really convenient since all of my guests were from out of town. But it didn't feel like it was in the middle of a city. I would reccomend this location to anyone who wants an outdoor/barn feel but can't go all the way out of town. Also to anyone who wants to decorate their own wedding, since here you get that chance.

This was the most beautiful and convenient venue ever! Located 5 minutes from two hotels (the Wingate and the Desmond) 5 minutes from Albany Airport, 15 minutes from Saratoga, an all around great location.
The site itself is beautiful, and the proceeds help fund nonprofit historic restoration and preservation work. ($10/per person). They offer both covered and outdoor options with plenty space for tents. The only downside is that the bathrooms are separate from the barn, so rainy days require umbrellas. They offer space in the house for the wedding party to get ready. All in all a fabulous, beautiful venue for a wedding.
