Mary was the kindest and most genuine person we worked with to put our wedding together. She actually cared about how things went and how we were, even though most of the time she was in the kitchen! Through the whole tasting process, she was so helpful, and even recommended dishes that weren't on the menu in order to accommodate our taste. She always got my pronouns correct (they/them), even when other people were misgendering me. -

Beyond, absolutely beyond. Chris is amazing and honestly one of the best parts of the entire day. My now husband is Haitian, and I am Italian, so we came to Chris and team with some abnormal requests for our food. Chris and team took them and ran with them in the best way. They allowed us to bring our own ingredients to make a specific Haitian Dish and they made it perfectly. Truly everyone on my husband's side was shocked we were able to have that food at the wedding, and for it to taste they way it should. Chris eased our concerns, and the food was amazing. You always wonder if the food from the tasting will be as good mass produced to a larger group and it was. There was not one food item that didn't get glowing reviews. Food is so important to a wedding, and Chris and team are professionals and the food was fantastic. Look no further. -

Do not hesitate to hire Pisces Rising for any or ALL wedding/catering events! We had dinner one night while visit our venue, and I had to ask if they catered - come to find out they are a preferred vendor at our venue. We were sold - Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding Night, Sunday Brunch...Pisces did it all. Not to mention, they absolutely OVER delivered!! Working with Joshua and Mary was a wonderful experience, and they exceeded our expectations. It is still they talk of our wedding, how we pulled off such incredible food, variety, charcuterie, and a killer warm pretzel late night snack. Highly, highly recommend Pisces for all events, and we already can't wait to go back! We are both very healthy eaters & also big foodies, and they did not blink an eye with any of our requests and recommendations. Everything was customizable, unmatched customer service and affordable. We had the BEST time working with Joshua from Pisces Rising! Pisces Rising catered both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding. As a 2020 couple, we had many changes throughout the process including a date change, rehearsal dinner location change, and a massive decrease in the guest list. Joshua was responsive, accommodating, and friendly through the entire process. We had two different tastings at Pisces Rising and both times were memorable and fun occasions. The food at the rehearsal dinner and the wedding was delicious and exactly what we wanted. The service was impeccable! I didn't have to worry about a thing. Pisces Rising will always be a special restaurant for my husband and I. We can't wait to go again for dinner to relive the wedding night food! I highly recommend booking Pisces Rising to cater any special event! -

Pisces Rising was amazing to work with from start to finish. They were patient with us with the millions of questions we had, and were flexible when we had to make last minute changes. They made us feel comfortable with the procedures they had in place due to COVID. They went above and beyond with everything and we couldn't be happier we decided to go with them for our wedding. We had an issue on the day of the wedding where our alcohol vendor didn't deliver any of the red wine we had ordered, which we didn't find out until the middle of cocktail hour, so the catering manager drove back to the restaurant and brought their own red wine from the restaurant. Even though this mixup was through no fault of theirs, they went the extra mile to help us have the most perfect wedding day.
Aside from the amazing service, the food is delicious! After the tasting we had such a hard time choosing which foods we wanted because they were all so good! The guests all complimented the food as well, and someone even said that it was the best filet mignon they had ever had! The prices were very reasonable too. If we had to do it again we would choose Pisces Rising again in a heartbeat. -

The staff of Pisces rising worked with us through every step of our wedding planning and day and made sure to get everything absolutely right. We had last-minute changes, special requests, and a packed schedule for our big day but Pisces never missed a beat. Joshua Jungferman personally sat down with us to decide on menus, understand our plan for the day, and show us how to succeed in that plan. The food was amazing, but the dedication this whole team put into our event went way above and beyond. We really could not recommend Pisces Rising strongly enough for catering a special event.
We got married at Sydonie Mansion. For future couples getting married there considering catering options, know that Pisces Rising will not disappoint!! Everyone complimented the food all night, and the service was flawless. There was never a line at the bar, and every guest was taken care of all evening. -

My husband and I loved having Pisces Rising cater our wedding. We both consider ourselves foodies- and my husband is very particular about the quality of food he eats. The food here is high quality, high caliber, and affordable! All of our guests were SO happy with their dinners. Many of them said they got such large portions that they couldn't even finish all of it! The catering manager, Josh, was very easy to work with. He responded to emails or phone calls very quickly and had answers to all of my questions. We were so happy after our first tastings that we decided to have our rehearsal luncheon at Pisces, too. We also decided to hire Gregg, who is normally the wedding catering manager, to be our day of coordinator instead. One of the best decisions we made about our wedding day was hiring Gregg. He knew our venue like the back of his hand and made sure everything went off without a hitch. He made himself available for our rehearsal the day before. During our reception he personally made sure both my husband and I ate, had dessert saved for us, and always had fresh drinks in our hands. -

The folks at Pisces Rising were extremely friendly, supportive, and flexible from the first time I contacted them. They crafted several different plans for my evolving budget and kept in very close touch with me. The food was delicious, there were tons of options, and the people were really a delight to work with. I will visit their restaurant every time I'm in the vicinity of Mount Dora! -

Excellent catering services!
We found them thru our wedding venue and we has so much luck! Finding a great catering service is a difficult task. We talked with Joshua to get an appointment for tasting and decide if we where going to pick them. BINGO, the food taste great and the gave us an excellent service at out wedding. All our guest loved the food! -

When we started this journey I didn't know anything about how to plan an event like this (luckily my bride did!), but I did know that the food was one of my top priorities. So I was understandably disappointed when I found out that the catering was constrained to shortlist based on our venue. This is one of those times where you try to be upset but you can't ignore the fact that the thing upsetting you just helped you far more than you could have ever done on your own...
What I mean is, I don't think we'd have considered Pisces Rising prior to reading the list of approved vendors. And so we looked it up, decided to go do a little recon. And if you haven't had a meal there, stop reading and make a reservation (seriously, it's amazing).
But this review is for the catering service. So we had a pretty good idea Pisces was going to be our caterer before even the first tasting. What was amazing though, they really seemed to have fun with this! They didn't bring out generic food, they asked for ideas and custom made some fun dishes to give us a real variety. And the gnocchi they made us, I still get comments (2 months later) about it!
And while I enjoyed the food, I know the guests enjoyed the food, what cannot be understated is how wonderful the service was. Joshua was an absolute pleasure to work with. Their catering manager was there on the day of, and I'd find him always around making sure everything is going smoothly. He was even the first to notice and check on me when I needed to step away for a minute :) (it's a long day, you'll understand soon!)

Our wedding was last night and we still cannot get over how delicious the food was. In fact, our guests couldn't stop raving about the food and that it was the best wedding food they've ever had. Joshua was phenomenal to work with from beginning to end. The staff that was at our wedding was also phenomenal and took care of everything my now husband and I needed as well as all of our guests. The upscale southern food was life-- I absolutely recommend their shrimps and grits (YUM!!!). Pisces Rising is one of a few preferred caterer for our venue (Tavares Pavilion on the Lake) and was by far the most affordable as well as the most delicious. After our initial tasting we knew that we were going to have some of the best food. Thank you so much to Joshua and the whole Pisces Rising team. We will forever recommend you and talk about how great your food is! -

From the moment we first met with Pisces Rising to consider them for catering, we felt at home. Joshua (the owner) was great at staying in contact, answering our many questions. They were provide everything we wanted and then some! Their staff are very professional and made sure we had everything we needed, not just during the wedding but anytime we ate within the restaurant. Because they are privately owned they dont have minimums or overhead fees like many big companies, so we felt we got a great price on our wedding day services. They were adaptable with so many things. We always felt laid back and comfortable, and they eased any fears we may have had. -

Megan Sent on 03/06/2018Amazing caterer! We got married at the Tavares Pavilion and we got quotes from every single one of their preferred caterers and went to a few of their tastings. Pisces Rising was hands down the best in quality and in price. I didn't want typical boring wedding food... Pisces Rising allowed us to fully customize our menu and Joshua was so accommodating to make sure we got everything we wanted. The Flaming Donut Bar was a HUGE hit and our guests are still raving about how excellent the food was, people were going back for 2nds and 3rds. Their tasting sessions are so personalized and they really go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. I would highly recommend them!
