  Elegant Magical Upscale Wedding

  My daughter's wedding reception was at L'escale. We worked with Michael Merturi for 17 months planning an event for 140 people--that ended up at 120 due to covid. Because of covid concerns, we made use of the entire space, including the restaurant so we could spread out. Tables were spaced well and people had so much room to move around. The dance floor was the perfect size for 120. Nobody felt crowded. What a magical night. Michael was amazing. I am a discriminating, meticulous consumer of services, and Michael met every request with patience, creativity, and responsiveness. He worked with us assiduously on every detail of our menu, the wine choices, and special desserts. The night of the event, he took over all coordination and was by my side constantly with reminders of what was going to happen with 8 minute, 5 minute, 3 minute notices quietly in my ear. Michael even approached the bride and groom and reminded them that they need to eat and that would be a good moment for them to do so. (He also sent up a plate of cocktail hour food to their suite upon our arrival at the hotel so they could sit for 15 minutes by themselves and enjoy!) Everything went off like clockwork, and as mother of the bride, I could relax, knowing I was in great hands. The food was incredible--upscale, high quality, delicious and plentiful. Every guest told us they had never been to a wedding like this and how much they appreciated it not being a "typical" wedding ballroom or menu. The kitchen took care of all of our guests with dietary needs. The venue itself is warm, sophisticated, and right on the Greenwich harbor--adding a south of France vibe. In addition, the room had wonderful acoustics so the band did not dominate the sound. People could still talk and be heard. The connection to the Delamar Hotel was incredibly convenient for out of town guests and the photos of the bride groom from their suite overlooking the harbor were wonderful. I would highly recommend L'escale for an upscale, elegant, sophisticated wedding that has a relaxed south of France feel. Just perfection!

  Remarkable Venue

  My husband and I got married this past Saturday at L'Escale and we could not be happier with how the entire process unfolded. From the first walk through at L'Escale we were sold and committed to a date. The restaurant is stunning with a large terrace that looks out onto the water that is perfect for cocktail hour.
  When we first met with Michael, we immediately realized that we were in good hands. He patiently responded to each of my many questions and offered recommendations to make the event as spectacular as possible. Over the course of a year he met with us several times to keep updating and revising the plans until everything was perfect.
  Multiple guests raved about the food, the venue, and all of the vendors (most of them were selected from Michael's preferred vendor list). Over the course of the night we received countless comments that it is the best wedding they have ever been to. Obviously I'm sure that this is a common remark to a bride and groom, but the compliments continue to come in day later.
  Everyone says that the day of the wedding is very stressful for those hosting, but I can honestly say that I was entirely relaxed all day and able to enjoy the entire event. Michael was completely on top of everything, so I was able to sit back and appreciate the entire wedding. I can't recommend L'Escale enough.

  Michael - you made our dreams come true!

  Michael Merturi and the staff at L'escale went above and beyond to make our special day UNFORGETTABLE! The venue itself is gorgeous, but the attention to detail and the impeccable service is what sets this place on a whole other level. Our wedding date had to be changed three times due to COVID, and Michael helped me rearrange everything each time and was always there when I had a random question or change of plans. We used all of his recommended vendors and were impressed with each and every one of them. He even worked with us when I had out-of-the-box ideas for menu items, centerpieces, etc. Nothing was impossible for Michael and his team. When my husband and I walked into the reception room for a first look before guests arrived, both of our jaws dropped; we were so impressed with how Michael was able to transform the ideas we had discussed and make our dream wedding even more beautiful than we imagined! I wish we could re-live it again and again! Every guest that we spoke to said this was by far THE. BEST. WEDDING. They had ever been to! The food was five-star restaurant quality. Everyone kept raving about the raw bar, but also the entrees and desserts. Multiple guests said that they normally try to fill up at cocktail hour because the entrees at weddings are usually disappointing but when they got their dinners, they cleared their plates and would have gone back for seconds. The bar service was also amazing. The staff made sure that the bar never had a line and everyone’s glass was always full! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would recommend L’escale to any couple looking for a once-in-a-lifetime wedding day! Michael, I cannot thank you enough! You really did make our dream wedding come to life!

  An Amazing Experience from booking to the special day!

  My (now) husband Nick and I got married September 28th last year. While it has taken me too long to write this review, it is not for the lack of fantastic experience at this venue!
  
  When Nick and I first moved to Greenwich, we had a fantastic dinner at L’Escale at the Delamar Hotel and mused about the possibility of getting married there. After we got engaged, this was one of the first venues we visited when looking to get married.
  
  While the space is absolutely gorgeous - great food, right on the water, with a huge terrace, and stunning indoor versatile space - it was Michael Merturi, the Director of Catering who really sealed the deal for us. Michael’s eagerness and professionalism really put us at ease. He brought us seamlessly through the entire process, step-by-step, and was so available to my husband and I, as well as our wedding planners. He comes with so much incredible experience and fantastic ideas. Every interaction in planning was stress-free and positive - from walking the space to planning the menu. Even in the face of possibly moving out entire outdoor ceremony inside (didn’t end up happening, but he was ready!). He truly was instrumental in making our wedding absolutely fantastic. If the location and food doesn’t sell you on getting married here, Michael should!
  
  Akbar, the Banquet Manager, did an amazing job as well. The waitstaff was professional and attentive and our guests had nothing but wonderful things to say about the entire experience. The kitchen and bar staff outdid themselves as well. From the quality of food and drink, you would have never guessed they had seamlessly served almost 150 guests from ceremony to the end of the night.
  
  Additionally the Delamar staff accommodated mostly out of town guests with such ease, allowing for us to take over the majority of the hotel for the weekend.
  
  It was a gorgeous and amazing night we will truly remember for all of the right reasons. My husband and I cannot recommend this venue and staff enough!

  Absolutely amazing from beginning to end!

  Our experience at L’Escale was absolutely amazing from the beginning to the very end. I would highly recommend this venue. Not only is the location beautiful, but the food is fantastic. Everyone told me not to expect the high quality of food we had at our tasting at the actual wedding, but they were all wrong! The food served at our reception was just as amazing, if not even better than at our tasting. On top of all that, Michael Merturi, the director of catering, was such a pleasure to work with! He made everything so easy for us and was always on top of every single detail. The whole service team was outstanding. All our guests have been raving about the location, food and service ever since. It was everything I could have ever imagined and so much more.

  Stunning wedding venue

  We were married last weekend at L'Escale Restaurant and were blown away by the amazing attentiveness and service from everyone at the venue but especially Michael Merturi. He was so calm and helpful in every situation and truly made me feel special and relaxed throughout the whole process. I can't recommend him enough, my bridal party even fell in love with him. The whole night was incredible and it was a night we will never forget! It was a perfect night.

  Sure, the setting at L'escale is incomparable, with stunning views of the water. But it was really the staff here that played such a huge part in making our wedding so special. Working with Michael Merturi was such a pleasure, as he consistently went above and beyond to oversee every small detail....as well as advise us on things we would never think to ask. He truly became our partner in every aspect of the ceremony and the reception, working together with our vendors with a can-do attitude, a smile on his face, and the experience to get the job done. Whatta great experience from beginning to end!! We highly recommend Michael and his staff at this beautiful, very special venue.

  Beautiful Venue and Awesome Service!

  L'Escale was the perfect venue for our wedding reception (about 110 people). It is such a beautiful setup on its own, and we felt little need to add much in terms of decorations/flowers. The dining room was just the right size, and helped give the reception a big "family dinner" feel that we were hoping for. And the outdoor space and bar was wonderful for anyone who wanted to get some fresh air. The food was excellent. When we came for our tasting, we were floored by how delicious everything tasted—above expectations, and we had high expectations! Our guests raved about the hors d'oeuvres, and the appetizers and entrees tasted just as good as they did at our tasting (high restaurant quality).
  
  Michael was great to work with, especially on the day of the wedding. We were running behind schedule due to our post-ceremony photos, but Michael quickly re-arranged our night so that everything went smoothly. He also smoothly accommodated some guests who preferred to eat outside last-minute due to concerns about Covid.
  
  We were simply able to enjoy the evening and have the time of our life, and everyone we talked to said the same. The Delamar (connected to L'Escale) was also the perfect place to spend our first night being married. We'd highly recommend L'Escale for a small to medium-sized reception, and can't wait to come back and enjoy a romantic meal for our anniversary.
