Karen Black

It all started with the Daughtry concert in November of 2009. Our mutual friend Maureen had invited both of us, though we didn't know each other yet, to a Daughtry concert in Greensborough, NC. She also invited our friend Samir. Now, Samir came to me and said "Karen, I have a huge crush on Maureen. Can you distract Josh so that I can talk to her?" So, I did just that. The whole hour drive there, and the whole concert me and Josh talked and got to know each other.   At the beginning of the next semester, I noticed Josh was in a class that required a prerequisite. I asked him if he had taken it and he told me yes, but he sat in the back. I sat in the front and never saw him. We sat next to each other in our current class all the time.   On our first date on February 6th 2010 we went out to Carrabba's and talked the whole night. We also went back to Josh's place to play mario kart until the early hours of the morning. After that night, Josh and I spent hours talking on the phone days in a row.   Since we were both on the same track in school, in the fall of 2010 we both moved from Durham, NC to Beaufort, NC.   On our first anniversary, Josh gave me a promise ring which I wore on my left ring finger until I got my engagement ring. At that point, we already knew we were soul mates.   In October of 2011 we both moved to Sacramento, CA because Josh got a job there and officially rented our first apartment together. In March of 2012 I got my job and things were starting to settle down.   On December 7th 2012, Josh took me out to Malabar, one of the first restaurants we ate at when we moved to California. We had a wonderful dinner, but he told me not to order dessert. Then he took me home and presented me with a dozen orange roses, a few sweet words, and a ring while on one knee. My hands were shaking! For dessert he surprised me with gelato.
