Looking back on all the time spent planning, perfecting every little detail(wild roses everywhere to match the wild roses embroidered on my dress), all the worry, frustration, money...wanting everything to be absolutely 100% PERFECT for our wedding...and it was over "in a flash"!! I wasn't being foolish, I knew there were bound to be mistakes, errors, something or multiple things that could and probably would go wrong. But, little did I know just how right I was! I didn't realize some of the mistakes while they were happening(no one asking guests to rise before bride entrance, or sit back down after bride entrance, or no one reminding guests the moment to use their confetti canons), some while they were happening(it's past the time for the Send Off, guests are already leaving and the DJ is packing up), and some not until days and weeks later(wrong music being played during processional). Please believe me, there were more! The truth is, the day and night flew by, and before I had a chance to take a breath, it was all over. Sure, I still get frustrated thinking about what went wrong after all the sweat and tears that went into planning. I might still think of what could have been, but such is life, yes? Mostly, what I think about now, is that I have never seen my husband smile and dance and sing and laugh so much in such a short period of time! I think about how lucky I am to have been able to find love and find someone that loves me heart and soul. I think about my mother, father and brother being able to see me finally happy after struggling for so much of my life. I think about my family members that showed up to support us, and the ones that couldn't, reaching out to show support in other ways. My advice to new brides to be: slow down! Take a breath, take your time and take in every moment! Focus on what you want the day and wedding to mean to you and your husband. Know things will go wrong, and that IT'S OKAY! I might remember my colors were blue, silver and white, but I will definitely remember how I felt looking into my husband's eyes as I walked down the aisle. I will remember how beautiful I felt(even though my necklace broke just before the ceremony)! My point is, when I start wanting to think about all of the "wrong" on that day, all I have to do is look at the pictures and see the smiles, the genuine laughter and love. And then I choose to focus on the positive, on all the good that is, and that will be! So... what was my wedding like, you ask? It was beautiful, it was everything I have ever dreamed of, it was 100% perfect!
