This is for the events/catering side of this hotel! This is a joint review from Ben and Sonia, written by Sonia! We wanted to do a destination wedding, and chose Portland, Oregon. We worked very closely with Olivia and Anny (and their teams), who are just the loveliest, friendliest, most personable people you'll meet. There is a sense of genuineness about them instantly- they're both basically unicorns. They were both super professional, and they were excellent to work with for my complex Indian wedding! We had a few snags along the way, Olivia and Anny dealt with it like total champs! And we always laughed a lot in our conversations! To maintain that balance of uber-professionalism and that human connection is super hard (and we interviewed a LOT of people/vendors)- and we definitely found it with them. We had trepidation about having our very detailed, multi-day, cultural event there initially, but Olivia and Anny pulled through (with many many many many phone calls and emails of both sides outlining expectations and realities) with FLYING colors. Our events were so amazing- the food turned out fantastic (after feedback was given on how we wanted it), and it did not seem like "hotel food'- which is definitely a category! Our guests LOVED it all, and honestly, Ben and I were not an easy team to please :) So that's saying a lot that they knocked it out of the park! :) The venue was gorgeous, and the location was prime. Everyone who came had a wonderful time, and we couldn't have been more happy with Olivia, Anny, their teams and overall this particular hotel! Definitely recommend for an event! We knew from the first meeting with Christina, our catering director, that we would be in the best of hands for our wedding. She executed our vision with perfection and was there every step of the way to answer all of our questions with patience and expert knowledge and alleviated every bit of nerves we had. The food was impeccable, the drinks were fabulous and the waitstaff and bartenders were such wonderful hosts for our guests. We had 120 guests, many of them travelling in from the East Coast and were so excited to give them a taste of Portland and the PNW. We hosted our welcome party at the hotel the night before as well and it was also absolutely perfect. All of the spaces were absolutely beautiful, and the waterfront location was perfect to show off Portland to our guests and to sneak out for some riverfront photos during our reception as well. We had to move our cocktail hour inside at the last minute due to rain and the change was executed with such grace and expertise that we barely noticed a difference. Many of our guests commented that they had never experienced such friendly staff. From top to bottom every minute of our wedding here was magical.

If you want your big day to be smooth and top notch Crown Plaza is the place! Candice was so easy to work with and helped us with anything we needed leading up to our big day and day of. The staff and food was excellent! We are so happy we selected this venue. Other venues wouldn't let me serve my homebrewed beer and Kandice made it happen. We have no complaints! This is a place you should lock down if you want affordable and amazing service along the way.

Lakeside Gardens is set in a beautiful natural park like setting. We worked with Noel from the Lakeside staff. She was awesome! Kindra assisted Noel with our wedding. Lakeside Gardens support of my husband and me was beyond our expectations. Lakeside Gardens support of us as members of the LGBQT+ community was so important. Noel and the entire team made Aaron and me feel like family. Lakeside Gardens offers three bakers, three florists, multiple menus of food options and color schemes. Lakeside Gardens was the one stop wedding venue that we were looking for but had a hard time finding. If you are straight, LGBQT+, or something in-between, definitely meet with the Lakeside Gardens staff. Noel, Kindra and the other staff go above and beyond other venues. We toured 5 other venues; Lakeside Gardens beat them all!

We could not have asked for a more perfect experience than our wedding at Columbia Edgewater Country Club! From start to finish, the entire team was an absolute dream to work with — professional, organized, kind, and attentive to every single detail. A huge shoutout to the venue’s event coordinator, Miranda Smith, who went above and beyond to make sure everything ran flawlessly. Her professionalism and calm presence made the day completely stress-free — every detail was handled beautifully, and I never had to worry about a single thing. She even made my dream “grand exit” of jumping in the pool a reality! Our guests are still raving about the incredible food, and we have Chef Kelly to thank for that! Every dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and exceeded expectations. The quality and care put into the menu truly elevated our entire celebration. The entire staff, from bar team to servers, were extremely attentive and welcoming. The venue itself is absolutely stunning — from the lush golf course views to the elegant event spaces, it provided the perfect backdrop for our wedding day. Throughout the entire planning process, the team was so accommodating with every little request and truly went out of their way to make our vision come to life. Thanks to Columbia Edgewater Country Club, our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and more. I cannot recommend this venue and their amazing staff enough, if we could relive this day forever we would!!!

We had the pleasure of having our vow renewal ceremony on the Portland Spirit on July 15th, it was a public cruise and the experience was absolutely amazing! Morgan the event coordinator did an excellent job answering all of our questions leading up to the big day. We booked 8 months in advance and no matter when we emailed Morgan during our planning she was always quick to respond and so helpful and sweet! Richard was the Captain that performed our ceremony and he was great. He talked to my wife and I beforehand to go over our vows and ensured me he would go slow as I was nervous I would forget my lines during the ceremony. Ryan was our event server and he was a last minute change as our designated server had to unexpectedly leave. He was attentive, friendly, funny, and very personable. We had quite a few guests comment on what an excellent job he did! He didn’t hesitate to jump in and assist us even though it was a last minute change. Thank you again Morgan, Captain Rich, and Ryan! You all truly made our day so special and memorable!!
