Castaway is great on about a hundred different levels. A few things I love:Sent on 09/01/2014
* The polished concrete floor
* The picture-perfect lighting
* The high ceiling
* The private room in back (for getting away from the crowd)
* The service and flexibility
* The fact that it used to be a bronze casting studio
They provided me with a floor plan, detailed contracts ... basically everything I needed to get ready for the wedding. And when I walked in day-of, it was even better than I'd expected. A wonderful event space for those who want something fresh, open, and more modern than a ballroom.

Beautiful & Accomodating
We fell in love with Castaway the second we walked in if that gives you any idea of how beautiful of a venue it is. Not only is the venue beautiful but all of the added value they provide was amazing; 200 chair, lights, welcome table, tons of dining table options, etc., I could go on and on. Once we booked them we received a Welcome Email with a lot of information that was so helpful to have during our planning. Paige & the Castaway Team answered my millions of questions throughout the planning stage and was always happy to recommend her ideas or advice which was very helpful as a couple who had no idea what they were doing. The day of the wedding went FLAWLESSLY and throughout the whole day Paige was checking in on me, making sure I was comfortable and if there was anything she could do to help. I can't say enough good things about the venue itself and the Castaway Team and would 100% recommend Castaway as somewhere to get married in Portland, heck, even Oregon as a whole. Thank you Castaway for helping make our dream wedding come true!Sent on 02/15/2019

Castaway, and our venue coordinator, Emily Moore, were absolutely perfect. We knew immediately that this was the perfect venue for us.Sent on 08/16/2018
Emily was a joy to work with and immensely helpful when we ran into trouble with one of our vendors. She went above and beyond her job description and we could not be more thankful. She was quick to respond to emails, helpful answering questions, and we really enjoyed getting to know her during the planning process.
The location and space itself are amazing and beautiful. We had our ceremony/cocktail hour in the outdoor courtyard and reception indoors. It really needs minimal decoration to stand out, but works well as a blank slate too. Even in mid-July, our guests were comfortable - they even complimented the AC after several hours of dancing. Castaway was a dream and a huge part of why our wedding was such a blast. Absolutely recommend!
2019 S U N D A Y special! Book our indoor space on an available Sunday in 2019 and we will include our outdoor courtyard space for free **$500 value** This offer pertains to new customers getting married on a Sunday in 2019.
Castaway Portland is such a fun venue to work with. Although industrial, it transforms into whatever your vision may be. I love the opportunities I get to use the space because the canvas always turns out different but always elegant.
This is an awesome venue in the heart of Portland's Pearl District. We have DJ'd here several times. It's pretty cool that client's can do so much with this space. They can have their ceremony inside or out and have a cocktail hour inside or out. There's a gorgeous view of the Fremont Bridge from this space and lots of other cool photos in and around the building's property line. The space itself is very industrial with all the modern amenities that one would need in venue space. There are very nice rest rooms facilities and a nice dance light system preinstalled. We love to work here and we're sure you will love having your wedding here as well.
Castaway is one of my favorite venues in the Portland area, and I've had the pleaser of shooting there twice! on both of these they have been very accommodating to me and the rest of the venders. Castaway is also a very versatile space, as I've come to find during the times I was there. The first was for a wedding back on 10/18/15. It was a relatively bright day and they, and they had the lights down low to create this wonderfully romantic and moody vibe. Those factors made it harder to take photos, but also made for very rewarding and beautiful high contrast photos. The second event was for a Kickstarter party on 02/12/16, this time they did a great job to accommodate the industrial feel that the client was going for. And a very unique feature of this venue (due to its industrial style) is that you can have something like a food cart pull right up along the side of the space, as well as have venders actually pull right into the middle of the space. A word to other venders: If you are one that has a lot of stuff to bring in, you will love how accessible the space is. And specifically to photographers and videographers: if it's bright outside be ready to work with a lot of contrast, as the space is generally pretty dark as artificial light goes.
