My husband Kevin and I got married here on March 22, 2025, and I still get emotional thinking about how perfect the day was. From the moment we arrived to the hotel to the day of the wedding, everything felt magical. The flowers were breathtaking, the music set the perfect mood, and the food was absolutely amazing — our guests couldn’t stop raving about it! What truly made the experience unforgettable, though, was Carmen, our wedding planner. She was such a blessing throughout the whole process — calm, kind, and incredibly organized. Every time I started to feel overwhelmed, she was right there with a smile, reassuring me that everything was taken care of. And she was right! The decorations were exactly what I had pictured (actually, even better), and every detail ran so smoothly that Kevin and I were able to just relax and soak in every moment. When we walked into the reception and saw how beautiful everything looked, we both got teary-eyed — it was everything we had dreamed of and more. We’re so grateful to Carmen and the entire team for giving us a day we’ll never forget. If you’re looking for a venue that will treat your wedding like it’s their own, this is absolutely the place.

We planned a January wedding in Costa Rica for 42 of our closest friends and family. Looking for a destination wedding spot, we stumbled upon Casa 9. This little gem was the perfect place for our destination wedding. We turned this into a long weekend, and 32 of us stayed on the property. Our other guests found places in town. The accommodations at Casa 9 were lovely, and the staff was attentive and made sure that we had our every need taken care of. Planning the wedding was fairly easy, though the choices were not limitless. Because of the distance from a large city, they have to rely on an outside vendor to provide the set up and even the catering. We weren’t extremely picky, and they were able to create an outdoor wedding that was lovely. A wedding wouldn’t be a wedding without a few hiccups, and we had several. Nothing that was a dealbreaker, though. Our guests had a fabulous time and had no idea when things didn’t go exactly as planned. The wedding itself was affordable— I think we spent a little over $12,000, which wouldn’t get you much at all in the States. That doesn’t include what we paid to stay at Casa 9, which turned out to be a reasonable price given the number of guests and experience we had. We couldn’t have stayed as affordably at hotels and had the opportunity for the interaction and adventure that we had as a group. They set up a really nice wedding chapel on the property with a little arch, chairs, and flowers. We tried not to be Groomzillas, but we did insist on fresh flowers rather than artificial. Totally worth the upcharge. Dinner was under a canopy beside the beach. It was a buffet and was tasty as buffets go. We had been spoiled by the food prepared all week from the private chef at Casa 9, so the wedding dinner from the outside vendor didn’t have much of a wow factor. The deejay did a great job of keeping the music pumping and getting everyone out on the dance floor. We had a little mixup with the playlist we sent ahead of time, but we were the only ones who noticed. We ended the evening with fireworks—a nice touch orchestrated by Marcel, the awesome concierge at Casa 9. Throughout the entire experience, everyone worked very hard to make sure we were happy and worry free. If we had it to do over again, we wouldn’t hesitate to have our wedding at Casa 9.
