James nailed the vibe of our wedding/the shots we had in mind, captured some unexpected moments that I'm so glad to have photos of, and was also an absolute pleasure to have around! We were nervous because we don't love being the center of attention, but James made it feel easy. Has a great eye and I love the photos he chose to edit in black and white. We received our pictures so quickly. I really can't say enough good things.

James was amazing in shooting our Welcome Party. It was so lovely to have a photographer who made us and our guests feel so comfortable. His creative vision and timing for different shots were perfect and exactly what we were looking for to kick off the weekend!

James was WONDERFUL! He shot our October 2019 wedding at Hudson Hall and we couldn't have been happier. His work speaks for itself but what you cannot see in his portfolio is what a kind and easy-going person James is. On the day of we met James and walked around Hudson getting some photos before the ceremony. James was kind and funny but not overbearing. We felt totally at ease with him, which was so important leading up to our ceremony! During the ceremony he was inconspicuous but caught everything with his photos. It was wonderful to know that he would capture those moments that mattered and all of the wonderful interactions between our guests. We cannot recommend James highly enough.

James and Allison of Within This Day provided my wife (!) and I with an incredible wedding photographer experience. They were very easy to work with before the wedding, discussing the shots we knew we wanted and the schedule of the day as well as the look and feel we hoped to see. Their candid eye for moments that capture the feel of the entire day was exactly what we wanted. They were a pleasure to have at our wedding and blended seamlessly with the guests in a relaxed and professional way. They had our edited photos ready about 6 weeks after the weekend and allowed easy access for friends and family. We have recommended them to others and would for anyone looking for a great value and lots of "favorite" snaps from their day.

Working with Within This Day was an absolute joy. They were flexible, professional, reasonably priced and most importantly - take gorgeous photographs. When we look back at our wedding photos, we're completely taken back to each moment. They feel personal, natural and filled with love. We couldn't recommend Within This Day more highly!

I was planning my wedding long distance and my mother found James & Allison from within this day. I'm not going to lie, I was nervous that I could not meet them myself prior to the big day.
Once I checked out their work online I felt a bit better, but once I met them I knew my mom did great. It's true what they say, Mothers are always right!
James and Allison did all their homework and knew where to be and when to be there without having to tell them.
I struggled with vendors not communicating with me throughout the course of planning my wedding, but James and Allison were a refreshing change. They responded quickly and had everything covered.
They were warm, knowledgeable and fun! Most importantly, it felt like they were grateful to work with us, which I believe is so important.
But lets get to the point here, which is the pictures. Once I saw the teaser they sent my mother I knew we really hit the jackpot. The full online album was completed in approximately 3 weeks, which compared to some of the horror stories from friends who have gone with bigger boxed photographers is really fast. We also ordered hard covered albums which will take longer, which is expected and fine.
The quality of the photographs are priceless. I wanted to be a unique bride and have a unique wedding and within this day was the perfect match. Their shots are breathtaking and unexpected. While they did take a few necessary "portraits," most of their shots were action / photo journalistic type shots. I will cherish the beauty they captured for the rest of my life! I have received so many compliments on their photographs.

james gave us incredible wedding photos that everyone we know is jealous of. he totally got the unconventional and joyous mood of our wedding and we can't really believe we got so lucky as to have someone as talented as james take our pictures. his work is amazing.
