About

We are happy to officiate ALL kinds of ceremonies, large or small, religious or not, simple, elaborate, creative, interfaith, multi-cultural, same sex, or whatever your two hearts desire. Counseling is not required. The first meeting is at no cost or obligation. Last-minute ceremonies are welcome and often possible.

Every couple is unique, with different needs, tastes and preferences. Your wishes for most any kind of rite will be accommodated--from traditional Christian to civil/nonreligious, to spiritual or alternative, with cultural elements such as Handfasting or services with a Native American bend--or any combination you desire. Together we will find the words to help you create the spirit of your day. We are happy to come to your location in the greater Portland/Vancouver metropolitan areas, or for a more intimate wedding (up to 20 guests), you are welcome to come to our Wedding Chapel, which is set in a woodsy area of the city next to a creek.

""Performing wedding ceremonies is my true heart's calling. I enjoy finding the common denominator of love to define a couple’s day, and bring them and their respective families together for this most important of occasions." Rev. Leah Light

We choose Leah Light to perform our ceremony for our July 2011 wedding at Elk Cove. Because we do not live in the area, we wanted to find somebody that was able to do all of the ceremony plans via email and phone. Leah was a delight to work with. She had many choices for the ceremony and also allowed us to modify it was we wanted. She was very helpful during the rehearsal and made my husband and I feel comfortable that the ceremony would go off without a hitch….which it did. Highly recommended!

Leah was the perfect choice for my daughters wedding. Not only was she professional, she was very caring and made the ceremony all about the bride and groom. The ceremony space was exactly what my daughter wanted, small and intimate, perfect. I am so pleased with everything about the way the day went, I'm considering having Leah preform mine and my husbands renewal ceremony! Thank you Leah for making my daughters day so very wonderful!

Leah was amazing to work with every step of the way! From the first phone call we knew we could trust her. Leah was prepared to guide us through the process of creating a ceremony that was VERY us. Living in LA, we were in Portland only a few days in June to go over everything for our wedding in August, and Leah was able to meet us in her lovely office exactly when we needed. Our rehearsal in August went smoothly (because of her), and on our wedding day she got us through the worst possible situation--the county clerk had forgotten to sign our official form and we couldn't officially wed! She walked us through the situation very gently and assured us of the different routes to making our marriage official after the fact, despite their mistake. As soon as possible after our almost unofficial wedding ceremony, Leah called the Washington County office and took care of EVERYTHING! Now we are happily married and can't wait to re-watch the ceremony video! I recommend Leah Light to anyone who wants a soulful wedding and a stress-free experience :)

Reverend Leah from "Wedded your Way" performed our wedding ceremony in June of this year at Elk Cove Vineyards and we were so happy with her services. Rev. Leah was so helpful and reliable from the beginning of the wedding ceremony planning process till the day of our wedding. She kept in constant contact with us throughout the 6 months of planning. She had great suggestions for our ceremony which helped us make it very personal to our wishes. We had a very beautiful and sentimental wedding ceremony which we will forever treasure!! Thank you so much, Reverend Leah for peforming a wonderful ceremony and for all your invaluble help!

Leah was wonderful to work with her approach is very creative. She has a lot of information on different vow options and great ceremony ideas. She really takes her time to get to know the couple and make the ceremony all about them. The best part of working with Leah was that when one of our guest was late to our wedding ceremony Leah didn't mind waiting for the guest to show up.

Leah was so nice and easy to work with. She sent us a ceremony script so we could pick out what we wanted and what we didn't want. She arrived on time and made the ceremony so perfect. Thanks!

Leah met with us for a "get to know each other" session before making a decision. We found Leah to be helpful, accommodating, and willing to help us plan the ceremony we wanted. After paying a deposit and confirming the date, she sent us our ceremony script via email, encouraging us to make the changes we wanted to make.

Unfortunately, we had two very close family members pass away a couple of months before we were supposed to get married. We battled with the idea of cancelling the wedding, postponing it, or scaling down our wedding to something much less formal; we felt that we needed to do something different for our ceremony after what had happened within our family.

I emailed Leah to let her know of what had happened and why we wouldn't need her services. She responded with a very sweet email giving us her sympathy, and expressed that she understood with our need to make completely different wedding plans.

She is a very lovely person, and even though we didn't work with her through the end, I'm confident that if we didn't have extenuating circumstances and did have her officiate a wedding, she would have been as wonderful and professional as she had been. I would recommend her to anyone who's getting married.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
