There are so many people to thank and highlight from the Union League Club, but the first to be mentioned is our coordinator, Ken. When we think of everything Ken has done for us, the words superb, elegant, precision, creative all come to mind. He was extremely responsive to communications, also allowing us to communicate by FaceTime and email often which was greatly appreciated since one of us lived in a different state. We did the bulk of the planning for our wedding, and we had special requests primarily related to our morning Hindu ceremony and meal accommodations for the day. He quickly offered great suggestions and special food selections for both the luncheon and the dinner that helped blend our two cultures.

The day of, everything happened like clockwork from the moment it was 6am: morning refreshments were delivered, the hair stylist, makeup artist, and decorations team all showed up (Ken also helped with contacting and confirming with our vendors in the few weeks before the wedding), and we began without a hitch. Our Baraat and morning ceremony was phenomenal and the evening just as spectacular, with our florists and photographers creating and capturing everything to the fullest. Our guests were constantly telling us how enamored they were with the events and how happily full they were with top-notch drinks (including incredible mocktails!) and food. The day seemed to flow effortlessly in a way that we can only attribute to having the best people working with us.

With a family dinner on Friday night, two weddings, a luncheon, cocktails and reception on Saturday, and a family brunch on Sunday, we were so glad that the Club has such fabulous resources for creative food choices, rooms that are aligned with the tone and size of the various groups, and of course all supported by a phenomenal staff of people who are the ones who make it happen! From the precision planning of Ken and the Catering team, to the smiles and welcomes at the Front Desk, to the seamless execution of every meal, it was absolute perfection. To everyone at the Union League Club of Chicago, thank you so much for everything!

We met at the Union League Club of Chicago a few years ago, so naturally we knew we had to celebrate our wedding there. We opted for a morning ceremony at a Catholic church followed by the most gorgeous, seamless, and romantic afternoon reception in the Crystal Room at ULCC.

Joanne Diaz was incredible to work with — so easy to talk to and truly supportive throughout the process. She helped us bring our personal style to life in a place that holds so much meaning for us & our families. She made planning the wedding myself feel completely manageable.

If you're considering self-planning your wedding, Union League is a big reason it was so doable for us. From the phenomenal catering and bar staff to the delicious food customized to our needs (yes, we had a mostly gluten-free wedding!), everything was handled with care. The hotel accommodations were excellent, and everyone we encountered showed such genuine kindness.

We could go on and on about how perfect it was to celebrate at ULCC. It was everything we hoped for and more.

Working with Ken Severin and the Union League Club of Chicago was an absolute pleasure! As a former Director of Catering for The Drake and The Langham, I rarely come across individuals who match my level of passion and dedication. Ken, however, was a breath of fresh air.

His exceptional response rate and attention to detail ensured that every aspect of the event was perfectly coordinated. On the wedding day, everything ran like clockwork, thanks to Ken and his team. The banquet manager, Sergei, was always available, and the timeline was executed flawlessly.

Throughout the planning process and on the wedding day, every member of the Union League Club's team was incredibly kind and accommodating. Their professionalism and dedication to ensuring a seamless experience for both myself and my clients were truly commendable.

The Union League Club of Chicago provided us with the perfect venue for our wedding. The ULCC offers the convenience of guest rooms and in-house catering, the elegance of the Lincoln Ballroom, and most of all, the hospitality of an incredible staff.

There’s no one at ULCC we are more grateful to than Ken Severin. From the time we booked our wedding with ULCC in 2019 until the final guest left the dance floor at our October 2021 wedding, Ken was there with us every step of the way. His knowledge and recommendations helped make planning a breeze. He’s the utmost professional and always had time to respond to our emails or take our calls in the two years he worked with us.

We loved the convenience of having our wedding at ULCC. We got ready in the guest rooms in the morning, where our entire wedding party enjoyed breakfast ahead of the big day. For the reception, the Lincoln Ballroom gave us a dramatic and historic setting to celebrate all night.

The two parts of our wedding reception that our guests remember most vividly are the food and the ULCC staff.

Our guests have told us the food was the best they’ve ever had at a wedding. Even our pickiest eaters were impressed. ULCC accommodated our guests with dietary restrictions and left everyone stuffed!

The staff – from the bartenders, to the servers, to concierge – were the friendliest and most hospitable. We appreciate how much everyone at ULCC did to give us a day we will never forget.

We have the highest praise for the ULCC.

The Union League Club could not have been a better place to have our wedding. We worked with Ken Severin and he was there from the start, advising us, helping us, and offering his extensive experience to make sure the reception was exactly as we imagined it. We loved that their wedding package included EVERYTHING (catering, alcohol, hotel room blocks, etc.) which made planning a breeze. Additionally, Ken contacted all our outside vendors (DJ, Photobooth, Photographer, and Florist) a couple weeks before the wedding to answer any question and to make sure that the logistics worked day of.

On the day of, the ULCC staff anticipated our every need. When we arrived from the church, Ken was there with our favorite cocktails in hand and ushered us to a private room to eat before heading to meet our guests (this was incredibly thoughtful since being able to eat at your wedding is tough!). Our guests loved the food, the short lines to get a beverage and that they were able to stay at the ULCC, which was super convenient! You won't regret having your wedding here!

We utilized the Union League Club for both our ceremony and reception. Michele was wonderful and provided us excellent service throughout our planning and also on our special day. Everything (cake, catering, etc.) was provided by the ULC as a part of our wedding package, which made my planning very easy! This was such a beautiful venue and I am so glad we chose to have our wedding here.

This reception site was absolutely FABULOUS! Kim Sanchez was our coordinator and we couldn't have asked for anyone better. She took care of every detail meticulously and went above and beyond with the extra details.
We have heard so many compliments from our wedding guests about the beauty of our reception and the venue overall!

The Union League Club Chicago was the perfect place for us to have our ceremony & reception. Having a venue where our guests could stay the night if needed was very important to us. Location near airports was also very important since we had so many out of town guests. The club was very flexible and able to meet all of our needs.

The ULC is a beautiful venue and the event coordinator is great to work with!
