I cannot speak highly enough about the experience we had working with the Westin staff while planning our wedding. Each and every person really cared to make this day the best day ever. Kyla worked with us early on, she was able to get us everything we could ask for in a wedding package. We were able to sort everything out prior to having to make a decision; she made it had for any other venue to even compete!!

After that we worked with Melanie... Melanie was AMAZING! She was so organized, calm, collected, and responsive! I could go on and on about how wonderful Melanie was... SHE was the reason why our wedding went off without a hitch! Our wedding was amazing; we cannot thank the Westin staff enough for their amazing service, food, and amenities... we couldn't have imagined it any more perfect!

Great Room Block and Helpful Service!!

We booked The Westin for a wedding block for our May 2022 wedding. We ended up with about 30 rooms in our wedding block. We worked with Erica Bill and she was fantastic to work with. we booked our original block before COVID and had to postpone and rebook twice. Erica was super professional throughout the entire process and was very responsive to any question that I had. Booking vendors that you feel comfortable with is super important and Erica made me feel at ease the whole time. The hotel was in a good central location and our guests really enjoyed the accommodations. It was super easy to coordinate our welcome bags and Erica even made it a point to come and meet us when we dropped them off. Super grateful to Erica and the Westin team!

Bride Of the Pagano-Monaco May 22,2021 Wedding

Westin did a Marvelous job for my 300 person wedding. The food was absolutely spectacular! The general manager even lent his pants to one of the groomsmen who ripped theirs. Erica and Erin were so helpful making sure everything went perfect!

Complete Amazing Wedding Service

I was just married at the Westin Downtown Cleveland we had our ceremony and reception there. I am so so pleased with everything. Our stay was fantastic! The service was exceptional, everything from our bellhop (who was the best one I've ever encountered in my entire life he was enthusiastic and extremely helpful) to the bar staff, to the catering services (the bartenders, waiters, captain Marcus), the professional staff including our Melanie who helped manage the wedding. It was a team effort and they really know how to operate. I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for making our stay and wedding happen. It truly was our dream come true.

We are using The Westin Cleveland Downtown hotel for our hotel block and bridal suite before and after the wedding. Prices are reasonable for a downtown location and the hotel is GORGEOUS after the recent renovations. They also offer a suite for the couple at a discount rate if you acquire 80% of your room block. The suites are large and beautiful, we plan on having the entire bridal party there for hair and makeup. Very fast response when asking questions as well.

Perfect hotel block

Working with Gary R was so amazing. He was incredibly helpful and made sure we had the exact rooms we needed for getting ready. He also made sure we had enough rooms for our block even though we had really underestimated! Gary was able to upgrade us to the PENTHOUSE for free. It was such an amazing experience and I cannot recommend enough. Book your block here!!!

Our experience working with the Westin was wonderful. We chose this venue during their construction stages and took a hard hat tour of the space before it was completed. They were extremely reassuring that the space would be exactly what we envisioned, and our wedding day would be a great event at their hotel. They were right - it was better! The hotel is incredibly clean, modern, and chic, and highlights the revamping of Cleveland, Ohio. We had minor complications to figure out during our planning process, mainly due to the newness of the hotel and being one of the first weddings, but overall the service was top notch. Kyla Gala was our consultant and was very responsive, patient, and always willing to make adjustments to make the wedding perfect. The day wouldn't have gone so smoothly without her and the staff during our wedding reception provided exceptional service. Highly recommended for fellow brides looking to host a Cleveland wedding!

The Westin was a beautiful location for our NYE wedding this year! We worked with Melanie who is their event coordinator and she made things very easy for us. The food was incredible and the ballroom is the perfect size for a 250 person wedding. It's elegant, fun, and downtown - perfect for the couple who wants to throw a great party! My only complaint is that they messed up our table numbers (my parents were in the corner) but once I said something they fixed it no problem.

Throughout the planning process responses could be slow, but in the end everything came together. I couldn't be happier with how our day worked out :)

We couldn't be happier that we went with the Westin for our reception venue. Looking at other downtown options, you get so much for your money. The hotel is recently renovated, and the style matched ours--masculine & midcentury for my husband, decorated with 6,000 pieces of local art, and sparkly overhead lights in the ballroom that look like wedding rings for myself. The ballroom was enormous, and unlike other hotels in the area you did not have to "split" it and use half if you didn't meet the guest/dollar amount quota. So much was included in our package, taking a lot of pressure off of us. Included in our package was the cake, limo (4 hours the day of and taking us to and from the airport for our honeymoon), uplights, a photo booth, bridal suite, guest room blocking, linens, dishes, etc). It was so nice to have it taken care of financially & logistically--we had enough to keep track of. There was some confusion on our budget minimum (pre-tax/gratuity vs not), read the contract carefully & have a firm guest count early on.

We started off working with Kyla, who later moved into purely sales and then worked with Melanie. Melanie was extremely responsive, getting back to most emails within a day (except occasionally on weekends). We had the unfortunate event of a guest at our wedding having a stroke, and the staff worked quickly, discretely, and respectfully. Melanie was present for the entire evening. The staff was attentive, available, and helpful without being in our face, leaving us to simply enjoy the evening.

The room was decorated beautifully, the food was delicious, the cocktail hour was held in a room with floor-to-ceiling windows with views of downtown and a sweeping staircase perfect for a grand entrance. The ballroom space was a bit big for our 130 guests, but they filled up the space with cheesecake stations, photo booth, lounge seating and high-tops by the bar. The chicken & waffles midnight snack was to die for!

We held our wedding reception at the Westin Cleveland and I wish I could give it a higher rating since the venue is beautiful and I am a loyal Starwood customer.

PROS:
The location was beautiful! It overlooks downtown Cleveland and all the familiar sites I remember from growing up here. The food was delicious and the waitstaff were perfection - friendly and accommodating.

After we expressed concerns about Kyla (see below) we were provided with other day-of Westin reps including "T", who was AMAZING.

CONS:
Our onsite contact Kyla Gala was routinely unavailable and would not respond for up to a week at a time during our planning process. It felt like every email we sent to her was met with an "out of office" reply in the months leading up to the wedding. It would frequently take 2-3 emails to get a clear answer from her and even then, we weren't really sure what was going on. She charged thousands of dollars on the wrong credit card three times during our payment process. The day before our event she was "working from home" and proved to be entirely unavailable. Everything we asked her to do seemed like an inconvenience to her instead of her job.

The night after our wedding, we requested our cake topper and it took over three hours before it finally arrived in our room.

OVERALL:
I would find another Starwood property for your event, or ask to work with someone else on the events team and maybe you will have a better experience.

I've played weddings at the Westin and was delighted when my son and his fiancé selected The Westin for their wedding in 2018. The service is excellent and the layout is perfect for larger weddings where you don't want to share the space with another wedding party. As a wedding musician, I enjoy playing in the atrium, which is perfect for acoustic instruments during cocktail hour, and have found that our Trio and Quartet can be easily heard in the ballroom without microphones. It's a lovely place for musicians to perform and for couples to hold the wedding of their dreams.
