Simply the best

It’s hard to fully capture just how perfect our wedding weekend at Bolton Valley was, but it exceeded every expectation thanks to the incredible vendors we chose and, most importantly, the guidance and support of Susan and Heather. My husband and I were married at the Ponds at Bolton Valley on 10.11.25, and while we were lucky with beautiful weather, we were even luckier to have Susan and Heather by our side.

They went far above and beyond anything we expected from venue coordinators. Susan was our primary coordinator throughout the planning process, and whenever she wasn’t available at the most convenient times for me, Heather seamlessly stepped in without missing a beat. Communication was thoughtful and consistent—regular check-ins without pressure to respond immediately—yet every email we sent received a prompt, helpful response. Chelsea in lodging managed our room block, and even with the occasional, inevitable booking hiccup, she was incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating.

One of the biggest highlights of the weekend was the food. We hosted a full weekend of events, including a family-style Italian rehearsal dinner, a pizza and wings welcome party, a plated reception dinner, and a breakfast buffet the following morning. Every single meal was outstanding, not only from our perspective but according to our guests as well. We lost count of how many people approached us unsolicited to rave about the food—comments like “those wings!” and “the best steak I’ve ever had” were constant. On the wedding day, Susan and her team thoughtfully prepared small plates of appetizers for us so we wouldn’t miss out, which meant so much as a bride being pulled in every direction. Looking back, I would recommend asking for a “to-go” box if that’s something you want later in the evening. We didn't think to, and we ended up wishing we had a few treats from the dessert bar or those chicken and waffle bites after the celebration wrapped up.

Dinner service was impressively prompt, with all guests served at the same time. The steaks were cooked perfectly, and the chicken remained moist, which in itself is no small feat. We also appreciated how customizable the food packages were, from specialty cocktails (including a thyme-infused simple syrup for my husband’s drink) to swapping standard package options for a mac and cheese bar.

Susan and Heather provided exceptional guidance and support throughout the planning process, striking the perfect balance between honoring our vision and offering thoughtful suggestions to make the day run even more smoothly. One example was shifting our ceremony start time from 3:30 to 4:00 pm, which made the entire timeline—from hair and makeup to our mountaintop first look and dinner service—feel relaxed and seamless. Susan also led our rehearsal, coordinated with all vendors, and created a detailed wedding-day timeline, allowing us to focus on enjoying the experience rather than managing logistics. This level of care truly went above and beyond what many venue coordinators claim to provide.

The only minor hiccup all weekend involved transportation with a secondary company we hired, but Bolton Valley’s own shuttle ensured all guests arrived on time and it had no impact on our day.

Overall, our wedding weekend was absolutely incredible, and we owe so much of that to Susan, Heather, and the entire Bolton Valley team.

Old-School Ski Resort Wedding of Our dreams

If you’re looking to create a full weekend experience for your guests, Bolton Valley Resort + The Ponds is the perfect wedding venue — and we truly couldn’t be happier with our choice.
Our goal was to bring our family and friends together in one place for an entire weekend and throw a big party where everyone could "choose their own adventure" — hiking, biking, relaxing by the pool, or just soaking in the mountain air. And that’s exactly what we got.
Heather, who manages weddings at Bolton, is an absolute gem. She was there for us every step of the way, and the entire staff went above and beyond — genuinely some of the kindest people we’ve met.
From riding the chairlift to capture dream photos in the wildflowers, to saying our vows with the Green Mountains as our backdrop, to having plenty of space for guests to wander — whether that meant a walk around the pond, cozying up by the fire, or relaxing on the deck — every part of the weekend felt spacious, intentional, and grounded in nature.
With ~180 guests, we were able to rent out the entire resort — it truly felt like we had the whole mountain to ourselves. It gave us the “adult summer camp” vibe we were dreaming of, with the freedom to spend real quality time with the people we love while throwing the best party of our lives.
Bolton is truly unique — not your swanky Stowe hotel, and that’s exactly why we loved it.

Amazing Wedding and Experience

We recently had our wedding at The Ponds at Bolton Valley, and we cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with Bolton and Heather. From the very beginning, she was professional, organized, and incredibly kind, making the entire planning process easy and stress-free.

With our small wedding of just 22 guests—and planning everything from out of state without seeing anything in person until the rehearsal and wedding day—we wanted the day to feel intimate and personal. Heather ensured every detail was thoughtfully executed. She truly listened to our vision and went above and beyond to bring it to life, from coordinating with vendors to ensuring the day flowed perfectly.

On the wedding day, Heather handled everything flawlessly. We were able to fully enjoy our celebration without worrying about a thing! Her expertise made all the difference, and we are beyond grateful for her dedication and hard work.

Not to mention, the food was absolutely incredible! The chicken was the best I’ve ever had, and our guests raved about the salmon and steak as well. The food was easily an 11/10—hands down, and the drinks were delicious! We couldn’t have been happier.

If you're planning a wedding at The Ponds at Bolton Valley, we highly recommend working with Heather. She made our day absolutely perfect, and we will forever be thankful!

Most beautiful setting

Initially, there were challenges, mostly in event planning staff, due to Covid but in the end, Bekah did a wonderful job! We had an offsite Church wedding but the Ponds was the perfect setting for an end of summer reception. The food was delicious and we could not have been happier with all of our vendors: Alison of Floral Artistry, Christian Arthur Photography, Bridal Services by Laela, Party Factor Band, quartet from Vermont Symphony, Top Hat Entertainment for the mirror photo booth and Kat of Premier Coach Bus Co. Kudos, kudos, kudos!
