My review of Sara is long overdue, but she absolutely deserves a glowing recommendation. Sara was a joy to work with and made the song selection process for our wedding a breeze. She even helped me prank my wife with a "joke song" before our fist dance. Sara had the dance floor jumping right away and easily adhered to our "do not play" list. In addition to knocking the music out of the park, Sara was also a great MC for the evening and helped us transition from wedding party intros to dinner and from speeches to the dance floor. 10/10, please give Sara a call for your next special event--you will be glad you did! Sara and her team were truly AMAZING. Sara was both our wedding planner and our DJ. Sara is so organized and does not leave any stone unturned. I felt like she really got to know us before our big day and was able to make decisions on our behalf with the confidence that it was the same decision we would have made if we were available to do so. She was so calm and collected throughout the day, which helped us to relax and know that our wedding day was in good hands. She was tasked with decorating our reception area with our florist. This was not an easy task, as our venue was not a typical wedding venue. We got married at Camp Lenox, a kid’s summer camp, and they were able to transform the dining hall into a beautiful reception space. Many guests and family members also commented on how attentive Sara and her team were throughout the day.
Prior to the wedding Sara sent us a questionnaire regarding the music. We told her what type of music we like to listen to, the age range of our guests, and lots of other details about how we envisioned our night to go. The dance floor was never empty and our guests had a blast. People of all ages were dancing and enjoying the music. Sara was able to quickly get a read on the room and play the right song.

My wife and I are counting every lucky star that we hired Sara for our wedding day. The day before our wedding, we had to change almost every single detail because of COVID-19, and Sara didn’t miss a single beat, remembered and highlighted what was important to us on our big day, and kept our spirits high! She is incredibly organized, professional, and really, seriously was SO mindful of every single detail. Her DJ skills are ✨amazing✨, and she played all our favorites and more—it really kept the energy up and joyful. And Elise was completely amazing. I was a wreck the day before and the beginning of the day because of everything that had happened around COVID/getting our ZOOM folx connected and tapped in, and Elise made sure everything ran smoothly—and happily!! Sara is the best! She is incredibly down to earth and extremely organized! If you are someone who has specific music tastes and doesn't want the same wedding songs played at your reception, Sara is your DJ! We attended multiple weddings with the cheesiest DJs and wanted 1000% the opposite for our special day. Sara provided a fantastic experience and embraced our weird music tastes. Would hire her again and again if we could!

We loved working with Sara and the Mindful Wedding team. It was such a relief (and, honestly, a surprise!) to be able to hand off the truly huge number of details we needed to execute on the day of our wedding. We had a very big celebration with a ceremony in one location, dinner in another, and dancing in a third. Sara, Elise, and Dan handled set up for all three spaces beginning early in the morning. They seamlessly coordinated with the team at our venue and with a bunch of our friends who were helping on a range or projects. I was really worried about being able to let go of details- months of planning and we were just handing it off. Very stressful! But Sara and the team handled it for us. When there was something out of place they got it fixed immediately. Sara and Dan also coordinated an EPIC dance party at the same time. So basically, they are magicians. And Elise. She is a champion. It felt like she was everywhere at once- helping bartend, setting up desserts, moving people from place to place... I was completely in awe. Finally, it was really amazing to work with a team that felt like real, normal, fun people. They were a total pleasure and really made our celebration. We can't thank them enough.

Highly highly recommend Sara and her team for both wedding day-of coordination and DJ services! We first hired Sara to be the DJ for our wedding in June, and she was so nice to work with and flexible about how to deal with the music, timing of the reception, etc. We chose to make our own playlists, and she worked to put them in the right order and add transitions- though many people might not want to make their own, we appreciated that she was totally fine letting us take control of the music! Once we got closer to the wedding, I realized that we really needed some help on the day, and it made the most sense to hire Sara and her assistant Elise- they were reasonably priced and offered a super smooth transition into doing coordination. On our wedding day, Sara and Elise came early in the day, and we were struck by how friendly and genuine they were, and how well they worked with all the people they were meeting for the firs time! They led a quick rehearsal with our wedding party, since we weren’t able to do that the day before, which was really helpful to get us all on the same page; they were also excellent at handling some of our more controlling bridesmaids :) — stepping back to let them make suggestions on how the rehearsal should go, but taking control in the end and making a decision. By far, though, the thing I am most grateful for is how they helped all the food come together- we had 2 friends cook all the food at a nearby church kitchen, rented everything a caterer would normally bring ourselves, and hired servers and bartenders. Not having a caterer who was used to coordinating a wedding dinner (food and event staff) was a bit scary, but Sara and Elise jumped in and made it all happen seamlessly! In the end, the wedding went off without a hitch, and we couldn’t have done it with them! Thank you again Sara and Elise!

When planning our wedding, we had no idea that we needed a day-of coordinator. I'm so glad we met Sara and figured it out before our wedding day arrived. Sara made our day stress-free and the fun NEVER stopped! Can you believe that she is able to coordinate a wedding AND rock the dance floor? Seriously, who can do that? Sara, that's who. She brought in two assistants and it was like I was a guest at my own wedding -- the best wedding I ever went to.

Best decision you will EVER make for your wedding.

I am a DJ myself, so selecting the perfect DJ for my own wedding was very important to me. I have been to so many weddings where the DJ completely stole the show and was super cringey. But Sara goes above and beyond to craft the playlist to your taste, create an events timeline that flows smoothly, and use inclusive language- she’s very much LGBTQ+ friendly. She was the perfect match for our lesbian wedding.
