Only 17 miles north of downtown Philadelphia, on top of a hill sits The Highlands. This elegant, two-centuries-old Georgian style mansion is surrounded by 44 acres of rolling hills and beautifully landscaped gardens. The Highlands offers a unique setting for your special day. Completed in 1796, the mansion features fifteen foot ceilings and bright spacious rooms in addition to a 2 acre formal garden and the ambiance of the surrounding estate.

This wedding or party takes place in four rooms on the first floor connected by an airy hallway. The total area is 2,441 square feet. There are three powder rooms on the first floor. A beautiful staircase at the end of the hall is perfect for the bride to descend for her wedding ceremony, or for the newly married couple to greet their guests. On the second floor, two rooms are available for the bridal party only.

Two covered terraces facing the woods and the gardens may be used to entertain your guests. Weather permitting, your ceremony and cocktails may be held in the garden. The mansion can also accommodate a wedding ceremony and 120 for a sit down meal or 150 for a cocktail or stations party.

The rental of The Highlands is for five hours and we only have one event a day. Chairs and tables are available at a no additional charge. There is parking for 70 cars but valet parking is recommended for over one hundred people. This beautiful mansion could be the place of your dreams. A Beautiful Place For A Wedding

The Highlands Historic Mansion & Gardens was a fantastic venue in which to hold our wedding ceremony and reception. The location is beautiful, spacious and fit the contours of our event perfectly. Our coordinator Dana was accommodating, patient, thoroughly professional and worked with us extensively before our event, to craft the wedding day of a lifetime. Even when an unforeseen tropical storm rolled through the area on the day of our wedding, she immediately activated a backup contingency plan that allowed us to carry on unabated. I cannot possibly recommend her and this location more highly.

Brother's wedding - - beautiful!

If it wasn't for the fact my brother already had his here I'd be first to hire The Highlands for my big day! Just gorgeous property and so big. The mansion is so well kept and there's definitely potential for in the future expanding to the other buildings on the land (I hope!). Dana is the best and so hands on. They're very flexible with vendors but it does mean it's very DIY... But I think that's a huge positive! You won't regret having your big day here :-)

Most Beautiful Venue with the Most Helpful Team

If you are thinking about going with the Highlands as your ceremony and/or reception venue, stop all your other searching! You will not find anywhere else that is as beautiful (or as affordable).

Dana, the manager, was incredibly helpful. We were originally supposed to be married in October of 2020. When COVID changed all our plans, Dana was incredibly supportive as we navigated through multiple rescheduling and changes. Our email thread is probably about 100 messages long and not once did Dana make me feel like I was bothering her or that my questions were too much. She is a large reason why I kept the hope that our dream wedding would actually happen and her support was a large factor in deciding to go forward with the wedding instead of just canceling it after one too many disappointments. Dana is amazing and you want her on your team.

In addition to all of her help leading up to the day of the wedding, Dana was great the day of. We had to move our ceremony location last minute because of a sudden shower and didn’t have enough time to enact our original rain plan. Dana came up with a beautiful solution that everyone loved even more than the original ceremony location. What could have been super stressful was easy and pain-free. She was unobtrusive the entire day, so when I got a text with 100 photos and videos that she had taken over the course of the wedding the day after, I was amazed and delighted.

I cannot recommend the Highlands Historical enough. The grounds are gorgeous and filled with history and the level of support is unparalleled.
