Best Gluten Free Cakes

I couldn't recommend using The Gourmet Cupcake Shoppe more. I'm gluten-sensitive, so I expected to have to settle for gluten free cupcakes at my wedding while everyone else enjoyed 'real' cake; however, my fiance said that their gluten free cakes tasted just as delicious as the 'real' thing, so we were able to order a whole cake to enjoy! We also had to reschedule or date and venue - they were very flexible and accommodating with the changes.

We had a small wedding cake, a groom’s cake, and mini cupcakes made by the Gourmet Cupcake Shoppe for our special day. They were all beautiful and delicious! The staff at Gourmet Cupcake Shoppe were very friendly and nice to work with. They did a great job!

We worked with Amanda out of the Bay City shop and it was such a pleasure. We had a small cake for us to cut and devour and then we had cupcakes. They were presented beautifully, the cake was just gorgeous and everything was delicious. Amanda helped us through the tasting process, offering suggestions and input but ultimately letting us decide what we wanted to do. She spent a ton of time helping us go through cake pictures to find what we wanted. She kept us informed of timelines and when payments and numbers were due. I will definitely work with her again whenever I need a cake or cupcake deliciousness!

I used the Saginaw location for my wedding and it was the best decision I could have made. Everyone loved not only the design but the flavors were amazing! The service was excellent and the staff was great. I will definitely use them again for my next event.

Carrie at the Gourmet Cupcake Shoppe is truly an artist! The cakes (and cupcakes) are all delicious, moist and sweet with thick buttercream frosting. Yum! The 4-tier cake she made for me was breathtaking. She asked for inspiration photos and I sent her a ton and she somehow managed to blend them into exactly what I wanted! The cake was set up on time and I didn't have to worry about a thing.

Delicious cupcakes

We used Gourmet Cupcake Shoppe for our wedding. We wanted to have a selection of cupcakes for our guests and a smaller cake for us to cut. The cupcakes were amazing as always. They provided two tiered displays and placed out over 200 cupcakes covering the table which looked incredible. We especially enjoyed the seasonal rhubarb cupcake that we were able to order closer to our date. The cake was great and they matched the wedding color and invitation theme in the scrollwork. It was a great experience working with them.

Carrie is wonderful to work with and her cupcakes are addictive! She uses all natural ingredients in everything she bakes and has a TON of flavors to choose from. She can make cupcakes, cake, and truffles - all of which are to die for.

We're going with cupcakes for our wedding. This vendor is great because they provide the cupcake tiers if you decide to do cupcakes. All you have to do is pay a $25 refundable deposit. Her work is delicious, attractive, and affordable.

Unfortunately she doesn't have a website yet, but if you live in the Midland area it's worth stopping in and trying a sample. Otherwise, give her a call.

*This review is for the Midland location*

I used the Gourmet Cupcake Shoppe in Midland for my recent wedding. I met with Carolyn and did a tasting and consultation. Heads up brides- if you want anything remotely pinterest-worthy expect to pay $$$$$! I showed her some examples that I thought would be more on the reasonable side but they would've cost an extra $1-2 per serving to just even put "swags and dots" of frosting on the side. Being on a budget, I opted to get a plain frosted cake with no frills and have them put a ribbon on the layers. I found some cool cake lace I was going to buy on etsy to have them put on but when I consulted Carolyn said she didn't have any experience with it, so she was unsure. So I stuck with the ribbon. Everything ended up beautiful, I got a medium sized (100 serving) and 200 mini cupcakes. I wanted to make my cake larger but waited until about 8 days before the wedding to realize this (which is my fault) and they had already baked my cake (or maybe just didn't want to change it!). That did make me question the freshness. I know they freeze it but really, 8 days? They did let me add on more mini cupcakes, which I opted for instead. I had a few guests comment that the strawberry white chocolate layer had an odd texture, kinda like a cornmeal, so I would stay away from that. They other layers were bumpy bake and oreo which were really amazing. For mini cupcakes the tres leche and mocha madness was a hit.
