The Gathering Place was the perfect venue for our event. Unlike most of the mansion options that are offered around the DMV area, this venue offers a bit of contemporary flair, which is exactly what we were looking for. They have plenty of rooms to host the different parts of your event (ceremony, cocktail hr, reception) AND they allow you to bring your own liquor which helped our budget a lot. Once the ball room was all done up in my decor theme, the room was breathtaking. Let's not forget the oh so affordable pricing. Allowed us plenty of room in our budget to splurge on other areas. All in all, we'd choose them again.

The Gathering Place has three large rooms of different sizes. We had a little over 100 guests and used the largest room. We had ample space for dining and dancing and probably could have accomodated another 100 guests.

The facility is clean and well maintained. It will accomodate a wide variety of entertainment sound and lighting systems.

The business office is very responsive and a pleasure to work with. We tried to pay cash for everything and TGP was well within our budget.

We would use them again and do recommend them to others.

Contemporary and elegant is what you will get when you book your event with The Gathering Place. It is a beautiful reception hall suitable for a number of events. The building manager was friendly and accommodating throughout the time my husband and I worked with her. She allowed us to visit several times with vendors in order to view the space, despite being closed for the day. Our wedding guests rant and rave about the accommodations provided. It was easily accessible for my family members in motorized chairs as well as older individuals with walking problems.

Gorgeous venue with a lot of space and flexibility! We used this as the place for the ceremony and reception for my brother's Hindu wedding. We loved that we could bring our own beverages and alcohol. We saved a lot of money this way! I highly recommend it as a beautiful venue!

The venue was spacious and great for the occasion.

The venue itself was great and as expected. The problem is that they have only one person who can show the place and she only works until like 4pm. Well I am sure that I am not alone in thinking that most people work during the day and asking to see a venue at 5 or 6 is not a crazy thought. Nor crazy to think that your other vendors may need to see the space more than 24 hours in advance, i.e. , photographer, planner, etc...When we asked were given all the personal reasons as to why she cant be there (like she did not get paid to be there more than 1 evening per week, she had to pick up her daughter). When we called to set up our rehearsal it was a complete nightmare. She gave us one time and then called back later and stated she couldn't do it because they was already had an event planned. Wouldn't even acknowledge it was her responsibility to check her schedule, not ours. She then caught an attitude with my planner and was very rude when we would not agree to hold our rehearsal at 3 o'clock in the afternoon 3 days before our wedding. But for that issue, which is a vitally important one, the actual space is very nice. They just need to put some else in charge.

If I could give the Gathering place minus 5 STAR I would. There is a lady called Wander who manages the place. We booked this location for a wedding. This lady tricked us into signing the space contract and made payments before giving us the catering contract for our caterer to review and see if she can work there. Mind you on their contract they stated that the catering contract must be reviewed by the caterer before signing and paying for the space. After we signed and made payment for the location space including an additional $2500 to Wander for just her presence on the wedding day. Could you believe that their contract had so much restrictions because they want us to use their caterer for an African traditional wedding and we knew they can’t cater the type of food we wanted. We ask her why she played us she couldn’t give us a definite answer. We tried to see if they will allow our caterer provide service there but because of what they were asking for our caterer added additional $4,000 to our initial agreement. We couldn’t afford that added charge because we didn’t budget for that. To cut the story short we ended up not having our wedding in that location and the gathering place refused to refund our $2500 we deposit for the location space and the additional $2500 that Wander charges for her presence smh. Total of $5,000 gone just like that. Only God will Judge Wander and the Gathering place for taking money they didn’t provide a service for. Smh. So evil and heartless.
