About

This award-winning fine dining restaurant can host your once-in-a-lifetime celebration!

Enter through the gates of The Fort and step back to the Early West. Nestled among the red rocks and the foothills overlooking Denver, The Fort is a full-sized adobe replica of Colorado’s first fur-trading post. The Fort has been featured by national media including Bon Appetit magazine and the Television Food Network and was voted by Denver’s 5280 magazine as one of the top 5 places to take out-of-town guests.

The Fort’s Private Events Manager will help you plan your rehearsal dinner, wedding celebration, corporate event or any special occasion. The Fort features romantic dining rooms with cozy beehive fireplaces and a spacious covered outdoor patio. The Main Dining Room, with its fireplace and view of the foothills and lights of Denver and the plains beyond, features a beamed ceiling, artwork, and authentic mid-nineteenth-century artifacts. They can accommodate parties from 8 to 350 special guests.

Treat your guests to a unique dinner of tender buffalo or beef, wild game, fresh seafood or a vegetarian tower. Unique appetizers & desserts are beautifully presented to tantalize the eyes and stomach for your guests to indulge.

The Fort has hosted President Clinton, Boris Yeltsin, and the world leaders during the Summit of Eight. Julia Child and many other celebrities have also dined at The Fort, located just north of US 285 and Highway 8.

Ashley Shade, the Fort's even Manager, was organized, accommodating, and a joy to work with. She was very attentive to details and helped make our Wedding Reception absolutely perfect. All of our guests raved about the food, service and atmosphere. You will be in great hands with Ashley and the Fort.

The food, delicious. The location, romantic. The staff, extremely attentive. There are not enough words to brag enough about The Fort. We've had all of our special events here and we've never been disappointed. First valentines day, surprise bday, now our wedding. I wasn't sure how we would be able to have privacy from the general public, Jenefer Weeks pulled it off. We had plenty of space for dinner, mingling, photo booth and DJ with dance floor. Amazing job. We'll be back, time and time again!!!

We had our rehearsal dinner at The Fort, and the food was delicious, the staff friendly, and the location great. It was a treat for our out-of-town guests to get a taste of Colorado. The drinks were very tasty, too.
Be prepared for some kitchy-ness if you choose this venue--either that or find the catering manager and tell them what you want and don't want. My mother-in-law booked the venue and they organized a bit of fun at our expense without really telling us. All in good fun, but if you don't want a photo of you wearing a buffalo hat, make sure to tell someone.
The location is great if you have younger kids coming. My cousin's kids played a bit of soccer in the courtyard when they were bored of sitting around. The views are unbeatable from the big terrace, but all the private dining spaces are on the other side of the restaurant. Make sure you take a walk to see the views of Denver--before and after sunset.

We had our rehersal dinner at the Fort. It was a great experience for our out of town guests and everyone really enjoyed the food. The buffalo was amazing and the service was top notch. They did do a corny thing- they put fur hats on my fiance and myself during a toast and then took a picture. We were not prepared for this LOL. However, we did get the picture after. Makes a great momento I guess!

The Fort is a unique and memorable setting, with absolutely delicious food. It's not cheap, but given that many rehearsal venues with average food charge more to accommodate large groups, you get really good food for paying higher prices!
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
