This place is extremely beautiful. The acousitics are amazong as well! I got married here back in June and had a very good experience. The owners are very passionate of this building and love to share it with others. The owners were very flexible and worked hard to make my wedding everything I wanted. I highly recommend this venue.Sent on 01/02/2018

As Chairperson of the St Joseph Landmark Commission Preservation Awards committee, I am pleased to announce that we have planned our event to be held at "The Dome" in historic St Joseph MO on April 24th 2016. Marcina and Jason have been wonderful to work with and our committee is especially thrilled to be able to hold the Preservation Awards Ceremony in this beautifully newly restored Church. Thank you for all of the love and care you have taken in restoring this historic property. We look forward to our event..Sent on 02/13/2016

Ruined my wedding day
Very unprofessional staff. Women who ran the place named marcena carter let her dog run around throughout my ceremony and reception. She approached me in the middle of my reception and yelled at me because one of their tables completely broke while some boys were getting the floor ready for our first dance. She told me we would have to shut it down early. She would bump into guests without apologizing while she was angrily cleaning up people’s food before they were done eating. She had no regards to my feelings or others. Then had the audacity to eat my cake. This place ruined my only special day. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.Sent on 10/25/2019
The Dome's reply:Sorry you were unhappy with your wedding. As we have already discussed, we do not tolerate under aged drinking at our facility. No hard alcohol was allowed, but hard alcohol was present at the reception. The fact that one of your own guests had tipped off the manager that there was under aged drinking going on she tried to address the issue with you, and a few other key guests to get a handle on the issue. She got no cooperation from you or the other ladies she had talked with and it didn't seem to be a concern for you. The reception was getting out of hand with unruly drunken behavior with several close calls to damage to the historical structure, including the moving of tables that is not allowed. I will say it again, and to anyone who reads this, The Dome will not tolerate under aged drinking nor drunken behavior, it is a church and we expect it to be respected as a church.
