Although I did not know it at the time, hiring the Derek Mack Band was the best and most important decision I could’ve possibly made for my daughter‘s wedding reception. From the moment Derek and his band members took the stage, all the guests were saying “wow”.

By way of reference, I have hosted over 100 corporate events in my business career. The cocktail reception my daughter‘s wedding was the best I have ever attended. By the end of the cocktail hour, virtually all the guests were on the dance floor before dinner. I have never seen anything like it. It was so much fun.

The music set after dinner was even better. The depth of songs that the Derek Mack Band was able to play and the singers they had to sing them, blew everyone away. Virtually everyone that attended the reception told me that it was the best wedding ever. I already knew the reason why but I asked anyway and they said the Derek Mack Band.

On top of that, Derek visited the venue several times to make sure everything would go off perfectly and it did. His professionalism and attention to detail were not only appreciated but admired. The quality of the sound of the music for an outdoor venue was amazing which I attribute to his fantastic stage crew.

Needless to say, the Derek Mack Band exceeded every expectation that we had. I give the Derek Mack Band my highest recommendation and would be happy to discuss my experience with anyone considering hiring them.

This band played at our 100th Gala in 2022. Our guests liked them so well that we decided to hire them again for our 2023 Gala. They were set up on time and played all of our requested songs. They are an awesome band, and I would recommend them to anyone.

Where to begin? The Derek Mack Band was first recommended to us by our photographer. I asked her, of all the weddings she had worked, was there a band that stood out to her? Without hesitation, she named the Derek Mack Band. I reached out to the number on their website page and was connected directly to Derek; he was kind, professional, and I knew it was a perfect fit. In the months leading up the to the wedding, we were able to see some of Derek’s band and trio performances throughout south Florida. We loved being able to get to know and build a rapport with them prior to the big day. For the wedding day, Derek coordinated a string quartet to play for our ceremony. They were amazing, had a huge repertoire, and played all the pieces we hoped for. For our cocktail hour, we wanted something jazzy, but subdued to allow for conversation. Derek arranged for one of his sax players to entertain for the hour. It was AMAZING, so many of our guests mentioned how much they loved watching and listening to him play. Now for the real moment. The reception with the full 10 piece band… There are no words to describe how incredible they were. From the requested songs for the first dance, father/daughter, and mother/son dances to keeping the dance floor packed the entire night- it was everything I could have dreamed or hoped for. They read the room and played a perfect mix of songs from all genres to keep the energy high. I felt like I was at a private concert, singing at the top of my lungs to every song. The two female vocalists were like having Whitney Houston and Beyoncé front stage. The horns. Drums. Everything. I had the time of my life at my wedding largely in part to this amazing band. Our wedding guests continue to talk about the band as the best wedding band they’ve ever seen. Derek, thank you for making my dreams come true. Booking the Derek Mack Band is the best decision you can make for your wedding or event. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Derek went above and beyond our expectations! He provided music and PA for the ceremony, cocktail hour, introductions and first dances, which were performed live flawlessly! The band was fantastic and their energy was infectious! They truly are the best of the best! All of our guests were impressed with their diversity and talent. They made the party. By far the best investment we made for the reception!

Derek Mack and his team are the most entertaining wedding band we've ever seen or heard, and we've been to a lot of weddings! We hired him for our wedding at The Colony in Palm Beach and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out. All of our guests were raving about our wedding and how fun it was all thanks to Derek and his team. From the first time we met him all the way up to minutes before the reception, Derek promised us "don't worry, we're going to make sure it's a great party" - and he totally delivered.
