Exceptional service

I recently had my wedding here, it was scheduled for last September, but due to Covid we had to push it further out needless to say I was heartbroken. From start to finish I had a wonderful experience Diane was always quick to respond whenever I had a question. I was allowed to come in multiple times to view the venue and get ideas on how I wanted it set up. We were allowed to do a beautiful ceiling display for our wedding where as some other places we had looked at did not allow that. When we were not able to have our wedding in September as we originally planned Diane sat down with me and we discussed our options she even called me on our original date to see how I was doing. I was nervous to try again in May, but my wedding was gorgeous it looked like a fairytale. All of my guest raved about how wonderful the food and the service was and how beautiful everything looked. Everyone enjoyed the gorgeous views from the huge scenic windows and the staircase made for a beautifully elegant entrance for my bridal walk to the alter with my father. I would recommend this place to any of my family or friends or anyone looking for a beautiful scenic venue with many wonderful places inside and out for photo opportunities.

Just had the most beautiful wedding day from start to finish this past weekend on 6/9/18! We booked at The Club at Shadow Lakes in Aliquippa, PA, Beaver County, PA. What a great decision! They will work with you on providing a great event and keep within your budget when possible. The venue was FANTASTIC and beautiful! From the inside to outside surroundings all views are stunning and the staff is so helpful and willing to go above and beyond to fulfill your dream wedding or event. SO many people texted me after the wedding saying it was the best and most beautiful wedding they have been to! Book this place and you won't be disappointed!!

I was skeptical reading the other comments about this vendor since it was the last on our list to look at and we hadn't fell in love with any of the others we looked at. Diane has been nothing but accommodating and prompt on her responses! We absolutely fell in love with the venue. I took my mom down to show her the venue and pay our deposit and as we got there Diane was leaving for the day but as soon as she saw us she came back inside to take care of us instead of allowing one of the other girls to handle it! She knew my name, my finances and my sons, as well as, our wedding date without looking. We had our food tasting and the food was phenomenal! The price is very affordable with the most expensive package (including food, bar, tax and gratuity being at $90/pp). I am glad I didn't let the fear of other reviews hold me back from this venue & can't wait for our big day with the Club at Shadow Lakes!

I had my ceremony & reception at this venue, and so glad that I did. It was absolutely gorgeous! It's been several weeks, and my guests are still talking about how beautiful it was, and how much they enjoyed the food. The staff was great! Yes, at times I waited some time to hear back from Diane, but I understood she has a lot of other events going on also. She was fantastic at meetings, always had my notes of all conversations, and the day of was fantastic and attentitive. I would definitively recommend this venue to any future bride!

I am torn on my review for the Club at Shadow Lakes. The Club is beautiful. My wedding day was lovely. The food was tasty, and compared to other similar vendors, the prices were average to good. The woman who handles the events at the club has recently changed to Diane D. Diane is very nice in person but is absolutely terrible to get a hold of. Whether I called, emailed, or left messages, I would never hear back. I almost didn't even go with this venue because I could never get her to respond to my messages saying I wanted to go with her venue, and where could I send my deposit!

When I did have in person meetings with Diane, she was very nice and accommodating (if occasionally a little scattered). However, on the day of my wedding, 90% of the people still received the incorrect chicken dish, despite my correcting her several times in our past meetings. Additionally, there were two bar service charges on my final bill. I had expressly asked (in writing) if there would be bar service charges, and she told me no. It's been months since my wedding, and she's stopped responding to my emails, and so this issue of the extra money I paid was never resolved.

I would have to say that, unless the event planner at this location changes, I would not recommend it. Despite the fact that Diane was very nice when I did see her in person, and this venue is absolutely gorgeous, and the food was very tasty, I think this ended up giving me a lot more anxiety than it should have. Unless you are a very "go with the flow, whatever" type of bride, I would not recommend this venue with its current even coordinator.

The person who was to be our contact at Shadow Lakes did not respond to phone calls after we had booked the venue. It was EXTREMELY difficult to communicate with this individual.
Further, the day of our wedding, they did not bother to put the covers on the chairs, as they told us they would, so we just had plain metal chairs for our wedding. Not exactly classy. We did not have our favors set out (we were told they would do that for us if we brought them the evening before) and the tables were not numbered (this is helpful to direct guests for seating, and to correspond with place cards). Finally, we were told that although it was a buffet, there would be servers setting food on people's plates. There were no servers present; in fact, the groom and I had to request serving spoons when we went for our food as those weren't even set out for us.
One thing that was positive is that the food was very, very tasty.

I would not recommend this venue if it were the last venue standing. Jimmy Mag's daughter was the bartender and was caught using bottom shelf liquor when middle of the line liquor was purchased. There were two bars set up the night before the wedding and one was taken down the day of the wedding. When asked where is the second bar Jimmy Mags said we didn't need it and accused the bride of not knowing what she was talking about even after she show Mags the schematic on her phone showing that two bars were to be set up. Loosing 3 coordinators in less than 6 months. Neither of them left notes and had to start over with each one. Coordinator did not show up the day of the wedding and no one else knew what was going on. 2,000 cookies sat in the conference room at 4:45 with the empty trays sitting on the tables in the ballroom that were set up the night before and the day of the wedding no one seemed to know what to do with them all day. Ran out of potatoes that we chose for our menu. The cook was carver of the roast beef and looked a mess with a bandanna on his head. Very unorganized and unprofessional.

This is the worst run reception venue I have ever been to. Be smart and book your events elsewhere. The event coordinator, chef, and owner are all completely incompetent and tried their best to ruin my sister's wedding reception. They were all full of lies and excuses for everything. Hopefully you don't mind a funeral luncheon also using the space while the 1 person sets up for your event. Also beware of the event coordinator because she is quick to slander anyone who is making her look like she doesn't know how to do her job. Just a quick run down of the things they did wrong for my sisters wedding: double booked venue, late to let us in to get ready, event coordinator yelled at bridesmaids for her being late, attempted to use different color napkins than was initially shown, refused to provide any golf carts for picture taking, claimed all kinds of additional fees than were provided and discussed with the original coordinator, upstairs room was dirty and no drinks were provided as we were told they would be, incorrectly set up tables based on diagram they provided, incorrectly numbered tables which we caught and fixed, forced the florist to fill all vases with a tiny pitcher that she had to fill up in a far away location, had to have the florist change the agreed upon time for set up because they were not ready, dinner service was late and slow, the wrong dinners were provided to the majority of the guests and when this was brought to the attention of the coordinator she had the chef storm out to yell at my sister in front of the guests (the chicken was not the same chicken they were served at the tasting so beware), a giant tip jar was placed at the bar despite a substantial gratuity already being paid by the bride and groom, liquor drinks were served with practically no alcohol content as was noted by almost every guest who was drinking, only one bar tender was provided despite over 125 guests so there was frequently a line. Stay away as long as Diane is there.

I attended a wedding reception of a family member at this venue. Save your money people......Go elsewhere!! The food was substituted with cheaper food that was not agreed upon. The venue coordinator was rude and had her nose in the air. Drinks were weak. The so-called "chef" (I doubt he has any formal training) was dirty. He looked like he hadn't bathed in a week or so. Was wearing a ripped t-shirt and dirty shorts. His greasy hair was all strewn about. Then he had the nerve to scream at the bride in front of her guests. RUDE! He is lucky the family didn't deal with him outside the way he deserved to be shown some manners!

Awful, the owner was rude and obnoxious. CHEAP! My dad, the father of the bride, couldn't do a shot with me because of "club policy" - they filled up a vodka shot with water in a rocks glass. The guests waited in line while the chicken and beef were empty, and the beans and pasta were already ice-cold. It was awful!!! The buffett line was held up multiple times, and cut into our dancing.

Everyone said I should ask for my money back, I wish I did, but I was just too overwhelmed with everything else.

The owner is cheap, Provided lousy, cold food, and forced us to go outside and back in to the golfers' bar to get drinks at ten oclock. AWFUL service. Look at the other rating sites, only bad news for this place. Wish I had done my homework...
