Matt has a diverse background in several different industries ranging from farming to computer engineering. He has worked as an IT Project Manager in Silicon Valley, a farm hand in Ohio, a cement construction contractor, landscaping architect, hospitality manager, logistics coordinator, DJ, MC, pyrotechnics engineer, and everything in between. He plans, budgets, builds, and executes on every last detail.

For the past 10 years Matt and Kathryn have been traveling back and forth from the California West Coast to the Michigan West Coast and around the world. Now that they've returned to living in Michigan, these experiences have influenced and shaped the design of this riverfront venue.

Kathryn has worked jobs and industries that suit her specific eye for details. Publishing, insurance, logistics, hospitality, event planning, and more. Kathryn works hard to cultivate the landscaping and furnishings of this beautiful riverfront venue. She has a passion for unique finds, luxurious guest accommodations, and attention to detail.

In traveling around the world, Matt and Kathryn have internalized the beauty of creating unforgettable moments. A single day in a stunning new setting can change the way you see the world forever. The Boardwalk is the culmination of many years of hard work to be shared with everyone.

Matt and Kathryn's two daughters play hard while mommy and daddy are working. When there are sand piles to dig, frogs and turtles to catch, or scooters to ride on the courtyard, the girls chip in to get the job done.

There's no better way to spend a summer day than running barefoot through the flower meadow with the doggies and taking a nap in the sunshine. These girls help keep up the morale on the jobsite during construction and renovation and we couldn't imagine working at The Boardwalk without them.
