About

The Blue Star Travelers are a six-piece string band from the North Carolina Piedmont. For 15 years we have made weddings unique and fun with our old-timey sound. Check us out on Facebook!

Outside or inside, acoustic or amplified, we offer fast and fun dance tunes such as jigs and reels, early country and popular songs, and slow tunes such as waltzes - perfect for reception parties and cocktail hours. We also offer beautiful ceremony music, including processionals and recessionals. As a dance band, we can even put on a live wedding square dance for you, forging a very special and fun connection that your guests will never forget!

We are seasoned musicians, polished, reliable, and professional, and easy to communicate with. You choose the package that fits your style and vision, and we will work with you closely to create the experience you want for your wedding. Best of all, we know how event budgets can get out of hand, so you'll find that we keep our rates reasonable for you.

One of our happy couples had this to say: "We asked the Blue Star Travelers for a joyful sound and joy is what we got!"

Please contact us for information on pricing, packages, and references. You'll want to book us well in advance to get your date reserved.

Best of luck to you as you plan your special event!

10/10 Would Recommend!

We absolutely loved having the Blue Star Travelers play at our wedding! Paula was so easy to communicate and contract with. The whole band was flexible and allowed us to watch the weather for a last minute call since we weren't sure if they would be playing inside or outside at the Saxapahaw Country Club. Luckily, the clouds parted just in time, and they played an awesome few hours outside. We had a farm/barn wedding and our ~150 guests loved circle/square dancing to their joyful tunes. They even learned a requested song for our first dance!

Amazing, fun, creative band!

If you are looking for something different —old time, bluegrass, down-to-earth kind of music—I cannot recommend The Blue Star Travelers enough! They made our farm wedding fabulous.
