The Blackwell is an elegant hotel and ballroom wedding venue catering to the needs of couples getting married in the Columbus area. This venue is the only hotel on The Ohio State University campus and is perfect for alum or those who seek a modern wedding venue.
Facilities and Capacity
This venue can hold up to 250 of your friends and family for a grand wedding. Utilize any of their three event spaces on the day of your event. Say your vows on the Terrace Patio or in our brand new pavilion, perfect for an outdoor ceremony. Host your reception in the Grand Ballroom or Reception Area; both feature a contemporary design for a modern yet sophisticated feel. Stylish lighting fixtures, custom uplighting, and banquet-style seating create the perfect atmosphere for a night to remember.

With the assisiatnce of our menu survey, our Executive Chef Team will create a customized menu that will not only be memorable, but have a deeper connection to and reminisce about for years to come. Parts of your custom menu will reflect your first date, engagement, family history, wedding theme or color. These are a just few details that are considered when writing yout custom wedding menu. If you need accommodation for dietary restrictions or needs, please inform The Blackwell’s catering staff when planning your meals.

This venue is located on the Ohio State University campus near the Fisher College of Business. Not only will you enjoy all of the city’s best businesses and hotels, but you will also be able to take photos using the OSU football stadium.

Amazing Attention to Detail
The venue was not only pristine but also updated and beautiful. We were able to have options on where we wanted our ceremony to take place and have a backup plan for rain.
We worked with Michaela throughout the majority of our planning and as our date became closer we also worked with Melodie. Michaela has obviously been through this process many times before as she is organized, professional, supportive, and especially kind. Both women treated us like their top priority in every conversation, email, meeting, and even video chat when the physical meeting wasn’t timely.
When we arrived at the hotel to the minute we left, the amenities and care every single staff member took with our family was beyond what we expected. Not one individual had any issues and every aspect of the day was carefully thought out and planned. We were offered every accommodation we could have dreamed of and more.
We have run into complications with the university and our postponed reception date however with the help of the Michaela and Melodie even this situation has been stress free so far.

This is a beautiful venue. Love the ballroom and the terrace! But lets talk food - they have such a creative chef that wants to really learn about the bride and groom in order to create the best memorable and customized menus you will ever get! I wanted to have an event just so he would create one for me! Jaime is such a pleasure to work with - staff incredible - I can't rave enough!
We have had the pleasure of designing several weddings at the Blackwell. I always look forward to going there! The staff is friendly and helpful and the ambiance is inviting. I love the outdoor area--it's private and intimate. It looks great with or without the tent! And you can have Brutus at your wedding...nothing beats that!
Enjoyed working at this beautiful venue. Staff was very professional and accommodating.
