The Ahwahnee catered not only our wedding, but our rehearsal dinner as well. We have a few picky eaters in our party, and they not only had food they enjoyed, but that they LOVED! Everything was mouth watering and to die for! We went with buffet dinners for both and we were so happy we did. I only wish I would have been able to eat more of it (but I did have a dress to fit into).

I am an Army wife and this wedding was our "actual" wedding for our one year anniversary. The people we worked with were very accommodating of our special situation of never knowing what the Army will tell us to do, luckily, after a few close calls, we got to have out wedding the day we planned. I had been looking for a venue that was flexible and not compromising on what I wanted. The Ahwahnee provided that and at a reasonable cost. The hotel itself is spectacular and we had the wedding of our dreams. It was all so beautiful that many of our family members cried. We are so fortunate that everything came together in the end and I couldn't be happier.

The hotel service was exceptional! We had a guest with special dietary needs and the staff made sure that guest had food prepared just for her. Due to a snow storm our wedding had to be moved, but the staff made sure that our guests were kept warm. They asked us many times if our needs were being met throughout the reception.

Don and Brian at The Ahwahnee were fantastic! It rained on our wedding day and they quickly got all of our guests under the patio at The Ahwahnee and everything ran smoothly. What I was the most impressed with is that it was Memorial Day weekend, and they had multiple events to coordinate in our location, but they made it seem like we were the only ones there! They were always calm and attentive. Sheila was great in the pre-planning process and even accommodated our last minute changes. The Ahwahnee treated us like we were visiting royalty! The room was fantastic with an amazing view and they gave us gifts in our room and left us cards.

I am currently in the planning phase for my wedding. Working with Debbie and the rest of the event planning staff at the Ahwahnee has been a breeze. They answer emails quickly. Even though I live 7 hours away, I can always email or call if I have any questions. It is a beautiful location for a wedding and reception. I cannot wait until July when it all comes together.

Debbie was wonderful. Vicky was fabulous. Everyone was really helpful and friendly. They accommodated a lot of requests so feel free to ask!
Honestly it was great. Perfect. I know everyone says this but so many of our guests told us it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. And the food was really excellent.

The Ahwahnee kitchen provided us with a wide selection of cakes to choose from: cake base flavor, frosting, size and embellishments. They were also willing to customization as well. For our tasting they allowed us to choose additional cake and topping beyond the amounts specified and when we ran out of one frosting they brought us extra. The tasting took place in their grand dining room and we were attended to my a handsome and professional waiter; the whole experience felt very luxurious! The choice we made (red velvet cake with strawberry creme filling and butter creme frosting) was so good that we could bring our selves to save any to eat on our one year anniversary. Between us and some of the bridal party we devoured every last crumb that was not eaten during the reception. The quality of the cake and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, the promise to embellish our cake with fresh cut strawberries (at no extra charge) fell by the wayside, for which I take off half a star, and we certainly paid enough for our delicious cake so the value loses half a star as well. Our wedding coordinator loses half a star for not being as responsive as she could have been, but overall the experience was good and I would certainly recommend working with them to anyone.

Our wedding cake was really delicious! Expensive, but worth it. They forgot one thing on the cake but it wasn't written into the contract so there wasn't much we could do about it. We had a cake tasting ahead of time which was awesome, so we essentially designed our cake. Everyone loved it!
