Hi! I’m Bryant Templeton, a happy-go-lucky wedding photographer servicing the DC area. I was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up just across the Potomac River in Arlington, Virginia. As a child, I was engrossed in the creativity of music. At a young age, I began to compose and perform music, taking piano lessons, and joining the school symphonic and marching bands. Growing up, I was exposed to the basics of photography from my father. I also had a close family friend who sold vintage photographs which inspired my photographic eye. Photography took a back seat, however, because music was my specialty. In college, I kept in touch with music through marching band, but decided to venture into Political Science for my major, as I thought it would be a practical focus for a job in the “real world.”
After graduating college, I was left without the creative outlets that were once so accessible in a school setting. I joined the DC workforce, and within a year, I started creating again. During the process of a discarded documentary film attempt, and in researching cameras to use, I rediscovered photography. I spent a year teaching myself the basics, and then enrolled at the Boston University Center for Digital Imaging Arts in Georgetown. There was a hunger for knowledge and thrill for creation that I had never experienced before. It wasn’t long before I realized I wanted to focus on weddings. Why? To me, weddings are just fun. Who doesn’t have a good time at a wedding? When I photograph a wedding, I get to use art to capture someone’s special day. What better way to tell someone’s story?
