Such great food

Taco Man Express did an amazing job catering our 150-person rehearsal dinner this past Friday! From the start, their communication was clear and easy, and they worked with us to create a delicious vegetarian menu that our guests couldn't stop raving about. Everything was so flavorful and fresh--people kept telling us how good the food was!

Their team handled everything smoothly on the event day, making the entire experience stress-free for us. Execution was perfect, and the food was a huge hit. Highly recommend Taco Man Express for anyone looking for delicious, crowd-pleasing catering with fantastic service!

HIRE THEM! TacoMan Express is the best!!!! I found them on yelp and after seeing all of their amazing reviews, pictures and stalking their instagram, we knew they were the right choice for us. We were having our wedding at a fancy location but if you don't like tacos and beer, are you really our friends???? Tacoman Express was a huge hit. They were easy to communicate with (both one the phone and through email). We mainly dealt with Michelle, one of the owners and she was great. So helpful and was so quick at emailing back. I don't think I ever had to wait for more than a day to get a response from them. And if you follow them on instagram, you will see these people are SUPER busy. So book them early! The food was so fresh and good, we got married almost two months ago and our friends and family are still texting us saying that they are craving the guacamole wraps and tacos from our wedding. We not only had plenty of food for people to make multiple trips, but we also had leftovers! The portions were great, the set up was amazing and professional. These are the people you want to hire! We even have a couple of friends who have asked for their number to book them for their own upcoming events. Can't say enough good about these people and their delicious food.

Tacos at a wedding? Hell yeah! We booked TacoMan Express to cater our small wedding at a vineyard in San Miguel, CA and it was one of the best decisions we made. Super affordable and soooo tasty. Every one of our guests were pleased with our decision and couldn't have been happier with the selections of tacos to eat. TacoMan was super accommodating and cater to our veggie friends, plus their carnitas is out of this world. I wish they had a brick and mortar (and we lived closer) so we can have their food on a regular basis.

I highly recommend them for any of your catering needs.

Wedding Catering Fell Short of Expectations.

I hired this catering company for my wedding and unfortunately walked away very disappointed with several aspects of their service.

First, I was under the impression that quesadillas, chips, and salsa would be served as appetizers during cocktail hour. Instead, they were presented as part of the dinner sides, which left my guests without appetizers. I had purposely not ordered additional appetizers because I was told these would be included, but that was not the case.

Food service itself was poorly handled. The server did not ask guests what they wanted but simply handed out large plates with excessive portions of meat. My three tacos were equivalent to six, which led to food being wasted and not enough to go around. Despite paying for service for 100 guests with three tacos each, not all guests received what was promised. To make matters worse, when coordinators offered to assist in serving to speed things up, the catering staff refused help, leaving long lines and delaying the reception events and speeches.

Food also ran out. I even witnessed staff hiding the extra plates they brought once supplies began to dwindle, which left me questioning whether enough food was ever prepared in the first place.

On top of that, I had provided proper dinnerware to avoid flimsy paper plates, yet my request was ignored and paper plates were used instead. I was told my plates would melt, even though I had tested them beforehand. The setup process was also unprofessional—staff struggled to park the trailer despite ample space, which added to delays.

When I reached out to share this feedback directly, I was met with excuses and dismissive responses rather than accountability. Instead of addressing the concerns, blame was placed on my guests for supposedly slowing down the line due to “mingling and drinking.” This was both untrue and unprofessional, as my guests were not impaired and the real issue was the slow pace of service.

The invoice itself was vague and misleading. It mentioned two appetizers per guest but gave no clear breakdown of how or when food would actually be served. This lack of transparency created unmet expectations that could easily be avoided with clearer communication.

Overall, the experience did not meet the standards I expected for such an important event. My advice to future clients: be very cautious, ask for extremely detailed contracts, and don’t rely on verbal promises.

Do not hire Taco Man Express for your wedding!

Tacoman Express (Santa Maria, CA) was one of the worst decisions we made for our big day. Their communication was sloppy and unprofessional from the start. The night before our wedding, they emailed at 10 PM asking if the venue had ovens — despite months of coordination.

They called the groom 15 minutes before the ceremony to ask where to park, then hung up on him. Their staff was rude, complained about the weather (75°!), and stopped serving food mid-reception claiming we hadn’t paid — even though we had. They bypassed our coordinator, demanded money from the groom’s father, and only resumed service once we showed proof — no apology, no accountability.

They never served the rest of the appetizers, asked us to pose with their truck for Instagram (seriously?!), and packed leftovers into leaking containers that ruined the venue fridge.

Whether it was attempted scamming or just complete incompetence, Tacoman Express added stress, confusion, and chaos to what should’ve been a joyful day. Avoid them at all costs.

Horrible experience – do not hire tacoman express for your wedding

We hired Tacoman Express (Santa Maria, CA) to cater our wedding, and we deeply regret it. Their unprofessionalism, incompetence, and complete lack of regard for our big day added an enormous amount of stress to what should have been a joyful, smooth celebration. Here’s what happened:

1. Unprofessional Communication:
From the very beginning, their email responses were incredibly unprofessional — often just one poorly written sentence without punctuation, grammar, or basic courtesy.

2. Last-Minute Chaos:
Despite our coordinator being in contact with them for months, they emailed us at 10 PM the night before our wedding to ask if the venue had ovens and who their contact was. This was shocking and inexcusable.

3. Day-Of Disaster:
15 minutes before our ceremony, instead of communicating with our coordinator or figuring things out themselves, they called the groom’s personal cell phone to ask where to park — then hung up on him once they spotted a parking attendant.

4. Rude and Unpleasant Staff:
While serving food, the staff were grumpy and complained constantly — about the 75° weather, no less. Not once did they seem glad to be there or happy to serve our guests.

5. Payment Scam Attempt:
After serving just a few appetizers, they suddenly claimed they hadn’t received the second half of our payment and refused to serve the rest of the food. They bypassed our coordinator and went directly to my husband’s father to demand payment. Thankfully, he paused and brought in our coordinator, who came to us in the middle of our private photo break to explain the situation. My husband pulled up proof of payment, which the coordinator took back to them. Only then did the caterer “magically” find a note in his clipboard showing we had paid in full weeks earlier — along with his own Venmo record. No apology was given. They simply resumed serving lunch like nothing happened. We never received the rest of the appetizers.

6. Inappropriate Behavior:
As we finally got to sit and eat, exhausted and starving, they had the nerve to ask us to pose with our plates in front of their food truck for their Instagram. We were too drained to say no, but it felt incredibly exploitative and tone-deaf given everything that had just happened.

7. Leftovers Mishandled:
After the reception, they packed the leftovers in containers that were either poorly chosen or deliberately tampered with — the bottoms had been cut open, and greasy sauce leaked all over the venue’s fridge. Our family had to help clean the mess.

We later learned from family just how much worse things were behind the scenes than we had even realized on the day. The whole experience was appalling. We still can’t say for sure whether they were trying to scam us or were simply that disorganized and negligent, but either way — it was completely unacceptable. If they were trying to double-collect payment, it was a gross scam. If they weren’t, it’s even more alarming that they would wait until the moment of service to check their records.

Bottom line: Tacoman Express nearly ruined one of the most important meals of our lives and made our day significantly more stressful than it needed to be. Their actions were not only unprofessional — they were unacceptable. We strongly warn anyone planning an event to stay far, far away.

Horrible, they ruined my wedding

Do not use this company for catering! They completely ruined my event and refused to take accountability for their actions. Not only that, their staff bad mouthed my family saying it was our fault. From day one they were told a date and they agreed on that date. Well, when that date arrived,
they were no where to be seen. They referred to an invoice that had a different date completely that we never saw. We went back on all our emails and text messages and it was for the date we originally set. They finally showed up two hours late. My whole time line was messed up. Literally, the entire event was ruined. Oh, and the kicker. They were rude to my guests and acted out off to even be there. Then at the event they demanded payment, when the invoice wasn’t correct. We never received what we had agreed upon. This is a shady rotten business, with disrespectful employees and subpar food. Save yourself and look somewhere else for catering. Oh and to the company if you’re reading this, thanks for ruining my wedding!
