Highly Recommend!

Our wedding on 11/11/23 was absolutely incredible! We had the most amazing time celebrating with our 75 guests at the reception. Everything went perfectly and it was so special to be the first couple to have a reception inside. We actually met the owners of Tacaro in 2021 when they first bought the place, and it has been such a joy to see their hard work pay off and watch Tacaro become the incredible venue it is today. We are truly grateful to have become such close friends with the owners; they are such a lovely, down-to-earth couple.

The breakfast was delicious each morning. The chef is an absolute genius in the kitchen and knows exactly how to make the mornings brighter with her culinary skills!

The beds at Tacaro are seriously so comfortable! We recently had our family and friends staying with us for the wedding weekend, and let me tell you, they were all blown away by how amazing the accommodations were. Every room is top-notch.

Dream venue!

BOOK! YOUR! WEDDING! HERE!

I truly cannot recommend Tacaro highly enough. Susan and Luciano are truly incredible hosts. They're warm, inviting, and just straight up cool people. They've done an amazing job with the property — every inch of it has been so clearly and carefully thought out, and it photographs beautifully as well. And my god, the FOOD! Best croissants I've ever had, and somehow even the fruit salad was mindblowingly delicious. We're all still talking about it!

The grounds were perfect for our wedding, and I cannot be happier with how everything turned out. The speakeasy was the perfect backdrop to our afterparty as well. Just a wonderful experience from start to finish.

Huge kudos to the fantastic staff as well — everyone was so attentive and SO nice. Thank you all for making our wedding weekend so special!

Amazing experience all around

From the moment we got to Tacaro and met Susan & Luciano we knew this is where we wanted to celebrate our wedding with our friends & family there. Susan was kind & helpful along this planning journey, which I’m so
thankful for! The experience there was fantastical. The food, rooms, and grounds were amazing. I honestly cannot say enough of good things to sum up our experience. Most of Luciano & Susan were warm and kind not just to myself but everyone in attendance. Also, my photographer couldn’t capture enough of Tacaro’s beauty. Please stay here, have celebrations here, and make all the memories, I know we did.

I can’t put into words how special this property is

I had the pleasure of getting married here this past weekend and it was amazing. It's truly an amazing property. It feels like a magical land far away from maryland in the best way. So much to explore on the property. Our entire wedding party stayed in the house and we had a blast. The speakeasy is amazing for an after party.
We also had our rehearsal dinner there in the dinning room. I can't put into words how special the property is. It's truly a magical place. Highly recommend checking it out!!! We will be coming back for our anniversary!!!

Warm. Welcoming. Wonderful.

It seems like a cliché to say, “We arrived as strangers, left as friends,” but that phrase describes our 2023 Christmas weekend at the Inn at Tacaro perfectly.
My 96-year-old mother and I like to do something different each Christmas, so when I was looking for accommodations, I came across the website for Tacaro and knew I’d found our destination.
We arrived after dark on Friday for our four-night stay and saw the inn from the road, sitting regally on a hill at the end of a long driveway, ablaze in warm, welcoming lights. The inn’s manager, Candi, met us at the front door and led us into the lobby complete with giant Christmas tree and charming decorations. I had requested a first-floor room because my mother doesn’t do stairs well. Candi showed us to the Taylor Suite, which has two fireplaces, one in the bedroom and one in the sitting room, and furnished with antiques and comfortable leather chairs and sofa. The owner, Luciano, also welcomed us, brought in our suitcases, and made sure we were comfortable.
We hadn’t had dinner, and Candi suggested a nearby restaurant. We returned for the night and realized we had a problem: there was a single, small step between the bedroom and the sitting room leading to the bathroom, and I was afraid my mother might fall if she got up in the night. The next morning, I told Candi about my concern. She immediately offered us another room on the second floor, which we could access via the tiny, two-person elevator, once used, she told us, by JFK and LBJ during their separate visits.
Problem solved! Before 9:00a.m., mom and I and all our belongings were moved to the large, sunny, two-room Pasadena Suite, which had a fire going in the fireplace and sweeping views of the front lawns down to the Chesapeake. As is typical of the service we enjoyed all weekend, at one point we had Candi, Luciano, co-owner and wife, Susan, and chef Louisa in our room, making sure we were comfortable and resettled. Next came breakfast, served in our room, featuring homemade croissants, fresh berries, eggs, bacon, juice, and coffee. A few minutes later, Candi returned, bringing us a three-foot lighted Christmas tree and plugged it in next to the fireplace. My mother and I looked at each other – how could we ever go home?
We spent the day in nearby Annapolis and had a fascinating tour of the Naval Academy. We returned to Tacaro for a rest and Candi offered to make us a dinner reservation at Baia in Chesapeake Beach. The road into the little harbor town was lined with delightful Christmas lights, and we enjoyed a delicious meal served by Bobby, who asked us to say hello to his friend Luciano when we mentioned we were staying at Tacaro.
The next day, Christmas Eve, after another fabulous breakfast of eggs Benedict, I had a chance to wander through the inn and admire the common rooms, breakfast room, and sweeping three-story curved staircase. I had read the history of the house, built in 1940 by Taylor Chewning, a businessman and thoroughbred horse breeder. The house is stately but not stuffy, all comfortably furnished and decorated to reflect a long-ago era, all under the excellent eye of Susan Luciano, inn owner, interior designer, practicing attorney, and – most delightfully – an excellent cook!
As the chef Louisa had the next two nights off, Susan, with the assistance of Luciano, prepared a most fabulous meal, and graciously invited my mother and me to join them and a few local friends.
The prime rib, which melted in our mouths, was complemented with creamy mashed potatoes, sweep potato pie and asparagus, all enjoyed in the cozy dining room, warmly lit with candles light from the fireplace, and a few glasses of wine. Our small party enjoyed conversation and laughs into the evening as we learned of our hosts’ relocation from Los Angeles to the Chesapeake shores, Susan’s brief acting career and Luciano’s nightclub forays. After a decadent dessert of homemade Meringue, courtesy of Louisa the day before, we finally said our goodnights and retired, well fed and happy, to our comfortable beds.
Christmas Day was a quiet one. My mother read her book and napped, and I had a chance to explore the exterior of the house and the grounds. With Luciano’s permission, I wandered down a winding brick path to find several barns and outbuildings. Like the house, the stables are brick with slate roofs and wonderfully preserved, and I could imagine a time when they were occupied by Chewning’s prize racehorses, the clop of horse’s hooves and the smell of hay and leather tack. The barn area is surrounded by rounded brick walls with wood fences beyond, surrounding quiet meadows as far as you can see. When I returned to the main house, I found Luciano in the driveway, and he told me about his efforts after purchasing the property in 2021 to tame the overgrowth and create the beautiful front lawn after its years of neglect, and his introduction to horse flies, something to which a Californian isn’t accustom. It became clear, however, that he enjoyed every minute of it, nonetheless.
As if it were possible, Christmas dinner topped the one the night before. Prepared by Susan, the turkey and stuffing were the best I’d ever tasted – so moist and delicious! Again, the wine, conversation and laughter flowed into the evening, culminating with a tiramisu so light it could float off the plate. A happy Christmas night was enjoyed by all.
The next morning, we had to leave! Susan and Luciano both helped us pack up our car. We stood in the lobby, reluctant to say goodbye, but promising a return trip. We felt like we had just spent the weekend at a friends’ home.
Susan and Luciano have clearly found their calling as innkeepers.
When you go to visit the Inn at Tacaro – and you absolutely must! – tell them their friends Kathryn and Marion say hello!

Gorgeous venue with so much charm and history

We got married at Tacaro Estate on 10/15/2022 and it was an absolute dream! My husband and I are both Anne Arundel County natives and have known about this property for years. When the possibility of getting married at Tacaro became a reality we were over the moon! Susan and Luciano are incredibly gracious hosts. They answered all questions and were very communicative. They worked with us and our coordinator to make sure the day ran smooth. The estate house was built in the 40’s and the detail and brick work around the property is truly stunning. On top of all that you have views of the bay from the ceremony spot and front lawn! There isn’t a bad place to take photos. The rooms in the house are all beautifully decorated to their own themes, and each bedroom is very spacious. It was the perfect place for my girls and I to get ready and enjoy the hours leading up to the ceremony. Our guests couldn’t stop gushing about how gorgeous everything was. I was 7 months pregnant on top of everything and love that we will have those memories at Tacaro to share with our daughter. We had beautiful weather and the day truly was perfect.

Incredible aesthetics and full of possibility!

I was able to attend the recent launch party at Tacaro Estate that was planned by IMPACT Collective. The property is incredibly beautiful and interesting. Not only is the exterior gorgeous- with views of the water and expansive lawns- but the interior is just as captivating. Every room inside has a different aesthetic but still manages to feel like one cohesive whole. I could’ve spent hours just looking through every room, taking in all of the small details and design choices.

It’s easy to tell how much love and care the owners have for the property. The house feels very welcoming, as if you were walking into your friend’s house. On top of that, the property has so much potential and could accommodate what feels like any event. Being there made my imagination go crazy thinking about what my own wedding could like at Tacaro Estate.

Views on views on views on views

From literally almost every room, you can see all of the greenery and even the Chesapeake Bay. After visiting, I immediately showed all of my family members pictures and videos. But my absolute favorite part is the speakeasy downstairs. A lovely 1940s mansion with climate control, what more can you ask for?

A great all around experience

I attended an event hosted by impact collective at Tacaro estate. The venue was beautiful. The front lawn had a stunning view of the water. The inside of this mansion was even more breathtaking. We got to tour all 8 rooms and were just amazed by the different aesthetics. What was even more astonishing was the speakeasy. Great venue ! Loved the versatility
