Reviews of Swedish American Museum

We really enjoyed working with Karin and the SAM. We wanted a wedding that reflected us, which meant bringing in lots of random things- bbq catering, our own bartender, staffing company, decorations, etc. So many vendors! Karin worked with all of them to ensure we had the correct insurance as well as how to manage delivery and pick up of items. The price was so reasonable, and we really got to have the wedding that we wanted. If you are hoping for a DIY or wedding that is a little different than usual, SAM is the place to have it. We had both our ceremony and reception there- the front hall was a big enough space to have a cocktail reception for our 95 guests while the room was flipped.

What a beautiful venue for a smaller affair. The museum was the perfect setting for my wedding of 75 people. Karin and the rest of the staff at the museum were all so kind and accomodating. The parking lot as well as use of their tables and chairs was all included in the rental. The space very easily fit tables and chairs for 75, a bar, a photobooth, the DJ, a buffet table, card table and three highboys with ample room left for dancing! Would recommend the Swedish American Museum to anyone looking for an intimate setting for a private event!

We absolutely loved working with the Swedish American Museum for our wedding! Karin is a consummate professional - thorough and prompt in her responses to email, and willing to answer all of our detailed questions. While there are some restrictions to using this space (events may not begin until after the museum is closed, the venue does not provide liability insurance or table linens, and you are responsible for cleaning up), we found that the benefits far outweighed them. There is a parking lot with about 12 spaces - a rarity for the neighborhood - and the venue itself is an art gallery, so there's free decor. We were also able to use any vendors we wanted, which provided maximum flexibility for our tastes and our budget. Also, unlike most other wedding venues we looked at, the price is the same every day of the week - so you can have a Saturday wedding for a very reasonable price and not feel like you're being up-sold. The museum staff members were extremely friendly and helpful, and we loved that we were supporting a local organization and not a corporation.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
