This husband and wife duo are THE BEST. Sun and Life did our engagement photos and our wedding photos in March 2023. They were so fun to work with - we genuinely enjoyed hanging out with them. Doriana met us at our hotel for the girls "getting ready" photos and my sisters had a blast with her while I was getting my makeup finished. My husband and I are suuuuper awkward in photos and they made it work (even despite my grumpiness and fatigue with photos by the end of the portraits). The photos are 100% what I wanted. I wanted them to be more candid, editorial and tell the story of the day vs. lots of posed shots, to really represent LA, capture fun and unique moments, and to feel just a bit dark and moody vs the light airy look I see with a lot of wedding photos. I'm attaching some my favorite examples of this style.

I would give Jeff and Dori 10 stars if I could!! We worked with them for both our engagement shoot and wedding. From the first phone call we knew they’d be a pleasure to work with, and they far exceeded our expectations. They are so easy going yet and true professionals! They helped us pick the location for the engagement shoot, and told us what time would be best for lighting. Once we arrived they helped us get comfortable within minutes. That was a big feat as my fiancé is quite uncomfortable with attention. Not only did they make us feel at ease, they made the whole experience really fun! (Highly recommend doing the engagement shoot- it made the wedding day a lot easier and more comfortable)
And that was only intensified on the day of the wedding. They rolled with the punches as we had to adjust plans slightly, were so patient (and made it fun) as our groomsmen were quite rambunctious, and were truly a hit with all of our guests! They were experts at getting us into locations/poses quickly and keeping us on schedule. And as if the whole experience couldn’t get better, the photos they sent us were stunning. They really captured all of the feelings from the day- their images truly take us right back.
Highly recommend you book them!!! You will not be disappointed!

Adding to my original review as we just wrapped up our larger wedding celebration! Jeff and Dori were absolutely awesome to work with on our big day. It's so nice to have a photo duo that works so well together, but also separately, as it was great to divide and conquer with the guys and gals while getting ready. And throughout the rest of the day they made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, made us laugh and made things way less awkward than they could have been, and captured every detail. Not to mention a quick turn around on sneak peeks, which every couple LOVES :) This team is awesome, their photography and editorial style is exactly what we were looking for and we are so in love with all of the photos we've received from them over the years (!!) of working together.

(from August 2020) We have had the pleasure of working with Jeff and Dori for our engagement shoot and mini wedding ceremony, and will eventually work with them for our bigger postponed wedding celebration. I was very picky while reviewing photography vendors for our wedding - it was important for us to find someone who would truly capture US, naturally and organically (and we also steered clear of the overexposed wedding photography style). The second you meet them, you know you'll enjoy working with them. They make you feel super comfortable in front of the camera, they are fun to be around, and they do exceptional work. We love all the photos we've received back from this amazing duo and can't wait for wedding round 2! 

I simply cannot say enough good things about Jeff and Dori. I knew I wanted to book them for our wedding the first time I saw their work. There is something about their photographs that comes across as so peaceful and joyful! They were amazing to work with leading up to the wedding, helping us plan our timeline and walking us through what we could expect. I worked closely with Dori on our wedding day and she did a wonderful job of gently keeping us on track with timing, bringing the perfect amount of humor to nervous moments, and reminding me to breath and smile. They breezed through our family portraits in such a methodical and organized way and got all of the shots that we wanted. Hire them. They’re amazing human beings, incredible photographers, and worth every darn penny!

Jeff and Dori were an absolute dream to work with. We did our engagement photos and our wedding day with them. They are so down to earth, and made my husband and I feel so comfortable and supported. Our wedding happened to land on an extremely hot day in September, and they helped keep us sane during some very warm photo ops. It was so easy to vibe with them and I honestly miss them. Our wedding was so damn fun, and they were able to capture all of our weird ideas and supply the moody yet beautiful feel we were looking for. I would without a doubt reccomend them as your photographer. Having a husband and wife team with so much talent and passion for photography and love was so special. We loved working with you guys. My husband and I are SO happy that we found Jeff and Dori Hammond to photograph our wedding. They are incredible photographers AND people! Their work is amazing and they have been the absolute best to work with from the initial call to the day of the wedding and communication after the wedding. I’ll start with their work – we loved the way they captured our engagement and wedding day. They took the perfect mix of shots – portraits and candid, a lot of variety and all very clean, natural, and artistic! The other big reason that we are so happy to have found Jeff and Dori is because they are so easy to work with. Neither of us really have any experience being professionally photographed (I suppose this is common!) or have a lot of photogenic confidence. We were nervous to be photographed and look as amazing as their portfolios, but they made the whole experience so comfortable and natural. They provided the perfect amount of direction and validation throughout our engagement photos and wedding day and we can’t stop gushing over our photos! They are talented photographers and also just fun people to be around on our wedding day. They brought great energy with them upon arrival and throughout the wedding day. Could not say enough good things, highly recommend them!!

Words can not explain how incredible Jeff is as a photographer. From the very beginning I could tell how amazing he would be, simply because of how patient and kind he was when answering all of my thousands of questions without batting an eye. I picked him because I loved his style - how he captured the natural beauty of a wedding in an artistic way, putting the perfect spin on traditional photos. He clearly had an eye for angles, lighting, scenery, etc.

My fiance and I decided to meet Jeff for engagement photos, knowing we'd be more comfortable on our wedding day if we got to know him beforehand, and were SO glad we did. He immediately put us at ease, and had such an easy going, relaxed but confident nature. We were immediately huge fans and even more excited for our wedding day when we saw the wonderful pictures he captured on that shoot!

On our wedding day and after, we received SO many compliments about how great Jeff was from our guests - and this was before anyone even saw his pictures! That's a true testament to his skill. People were saying that wedding photographers can be pretty clueless sometimes, getting in the way, making people feel awkward, etc. but Jeff just had a way of making everyone feel natural and comfortable, and was actually a fun part of it in the most perfect way. Jeff is truly a cool dude. I can't begin to explain how huge that was for us, and how grateful we were.

Then, Jeff sent us a preview of pictures THE NEXT DAY! What an amazing surprise to get a handful of incredible pictures while we were still on our wedding high. We were so excited to share with our guests, and everyone raved over the quality of the photos.

And... we just got our entire album of wedding photos back - all I can say is WOW. I cried seeing all the beautiful shots he got, including the candid photos he took that we'll always have to remember how perfect our day was, and how much joy there was even unposed. The lighting, the angles, the expressions...all were perfect.

My husband and I still comment on how lucky we were to find Jeff, and how much he made our wedding day. We would pick him again 100x over, and cannot recommend him highly enough. He perfectly captured the immense joy we felt on our wedding, and

I am absolutely IN LOVE with our wedding photos. I don't think I have to say much because their photos speak for themselves, but I do want to compliment Jeff and his team on their professionalism and artistic eye. Jeff and his co-photographer, Molly did an amazing job capturing our special day. They were so easy to work with and provided cues on how to pose and where to look. They definitely have an incredible eye for finding the best spots and capturing the perfect moment. We're so happy that they caught all the big and little moments throughout our day. We barely noticed that they were there capturing all these precious moments. It doesn't matter if they have or haven't been to the venue before, they do a fantastic job regardless! They did such a wonderful job highlighting all the gorgeous colors and details in each photo. We cannot stop staring at our photos, they are stunning! Thanks for capturing our wedding so perfectly!

We are obsessed with our pictures from Sun+Life! Jeff is amazing to work with! He captured the most amazing pictures at our engagement shoot and at our wedding. Had me feeling like a model when that is not my regular He honestly made me and my husband so comfortable in front of the camera and was professional, but incredibly friendly. He gave great directions for poses. He was so patient during family pictures after the ceremony, when he definitely could have gotten frustrated. And he worked so well with the videographer, there was no power struggle or anything.

And to put the icing on the cake, Jeff and his team sent us some beautiful highlight pictures from our wedding way quicker than we had expected. I could go on and on about their work, but in a nutshell I highly recommend working with them. It's worth every penny and you won't be disappointed.

We are so happy that we found Sun + Life Photography. Jeff and Doriana are absolutely wonderful to work with. We fell in love with their photos but the second we met them we knew they were right for us. It's incredibly important that your photographers are people you enjoy spending time with because they are there for some of the most intimate moments for your day. Jeff and Doriana know the venue we chose really well because they have shot several weddings there (Sequoia Retreat Center) and since it's a huge property, this meant they were really prepared with where everything would be. Working with Doriana in the months before the wedding were fantastic- she made everything so easy and she was really helpful with some of the logistical questions we had about since she knows the space so well. Jeff photographed our day and he did such an incredible job. He was somehow everywhere at once and not at all intrusive. Every single moment he captured was beautiful. He also has such a nice calming energy and a great sense of humor. We felt super comfortable with him- and one two totally separate occasions throughout the evening, he grabbed my husband and me to take a few more portraits on our own. At those exact moments, both my husband and I were feeling a bit overwhelmed by the day and all the people and the enormity of it all - and Jeff somehow sensed that and took us to have a second to ourselves. I asked him if that was a coincidence or if he could sense how we were feeling- and he said he could just tell we might need a break. That is certainly above and beyond what you expect in a wedding photographer!

And of course the photos are stunning. The light is gorgeous, we look like ourselves and he really managed to capture everything. I highly recommend Sun + Life Photography - you will love the photos, and you will love working with them.
