Summerfield at Tate Farms is a rustic wedding venue in Rockwall, Texas. First established in 1962, this working ranch has plenty of pastoral charm for you and your guests to enjoy. The grounds feature over 700 acres of private land, giving couples plenty of backdrop options for their ceremony and reception.
Facilities and Capacity
Tate Farms is one of the last family-owned working ranches in Rockwall County, raising everything from chickens to horses on the lush grounds. The team soon began hosting celebrations as a way to share the beauty of the farm with others. Multiple event spaces are present onsite, hosting elopements and lavish receptions alike. Couples are welcome to host their ceremony in the historic Smirl Chapel, which was first built in 1898 and carefully moved to the ranch. Inside features the original wooden walls and stained glass windows, adding a visually stunning touch to your vows. For an outdoor ceremony, couples can place their arch near the two metal silos and large budding tree for a one-of-a-kind view. After you say "I do," you can make your way to The Party Barn, which offers both indoor and outdoor settings for a versatile experience. String lights, wooden farm tables, and wagon wheel chandeliers decorate the barn, covering your celebration in a warm, welcoming glow. Also present is a spacious patio dance floor for you and your guests to enjoy the music. The venue is 35 minutes from downtown Dallas, giving couples a secluded, private atmosphere while still being near enough to the city. Parking is available onsite, with wheelchair accessibility to help everyone arrive at the venue safely.

Team
Evan is 3rd generation rancher at Tate Farms. His grandfather purchased the farm in 1962.
He and Melissa run several businesses together, including Summerfield at Tate Farms which was a dream his late mother had in years before her passing.
Google "rockwall couple throws epic wedding" to see videos and photos of their own wedding at Tate Farms which ended up going viral and landing on Good Morning America, Huffington Post and numerous print, digital and radio outlets.
Their wedding was coined "Tate Fair of Texas" and was planned and execjuted by the Tate's themselves.
Rachel does just about everything with the events at Tate Farms... from answering your emails, phone calls, setting up your tour, meeting you at the venue and being with you on your special day.
We are so thankful Wyatt can come in and help at times too.
Both are TABC certifed bar tenders and have been in the event and hospitality industry for years.
