If you are looking for over-saturated post-production, look elsewhere. Stephen's photos are not glossed over in fake, high contrast lighting and HDR. Instead, Stephen relies on natural lighting and instinctive positioning to make his photos feel intimate and authentic, without sacrificing any artistic integrity.

For portrait shots, he will work behind the lens with the subject in finding the best possible framing, lighting and arrangement in a way that does not feel awkward or intimidating. For candid shots, his journalistic approach makes the photos feel fresh and energetic - as we flipped through our reception party photos, we could almost feel the atmosphere of the room lift out of the photos. Stephen doesn't just capture the facts - he captures the emotion and feeling of person and place.

Stephen also recognizes the ancestral value of photography, and his awareness of family heritage, legacy and tradition is evident. Stephen was THE BEST.
We organized our wedding in just a few months, and researching/contacting photographers was definitely the largest time-drain. I was surprised by how long it would take photographers to respond to my requests for information, but Stephen got back to me right away.
Both me and my (now) husband are fine artists, so it meant a lot to us to have creative pictures that documented the day, but did not rely on the cut-and-paste wedding photo standards. Stephen's photographs are amazing; he was able to find so many special moments. The final products really function on two levels- as memories and as artworks.
Working with Stephen was a pleasure from beginning to end- incredibly friendly, flexible, understanding and just fun to be around. All of the wedding guests that spoke with Stephen mentioned how kind and professional he was, and how he really was a part of the event, never a disruption.

Planning a wedding is stressful; especially if you are a perfectionist and obsessed with detail-like me. The ONLY aspect of our wedding I was completely confident in was Stephen. I looked through countless photography portfolios and Stephen's was the only one that captured not only all the best, classic shots you want for a lifetime, but also he captures moments and details throughout your special day that will take you right back in time. He is a true artist. He is also very relaxed and comfortable to be around -which shows in the pictures. He is a true professional. The only problem I am having is narrowing down the amount of pictures I want printed-there are so many fantastic shots to choose from! His website and portfolio speak for themselves and trust me when I say, he is genuine when he tells you he won't be satisfied with his services until YOU are satisfied. Not only did Stephen take gorgeous pictures that captured our day perfectly, he was also extremely easy to work with! Me and my husband were a little nervous prior to taking our pictures, but Stephen made the experience thoroughly enjoyable. Stephen was an absolute delight to work with! We wanted our photos to capture our personalities without too much formality and we wanted to capture great candid memories during our ceremony and reception. Stephen went above and beyond and completely hit the nail on the head. Choosing the right photographer was one of the most important aspects of our wedding and Stephen was the best guy for the job! He responded quickly to any questions I had, was super easy to work with, was very patient, listened to any ideas or concerns we had, and truly made our day perfect! For our wedding we had some high expectations for the photographer. We wanted the photographer to spend the whole day with us. And by whole day we mean 7:30am – 11:00pm. We had a 5k race the morning of our wedding and of course we needed photos of the event and then there was the getting ready, ceremony and reception. Stephen was not only willing to cater to our wishes but excited to be involved. We also loved the engagement photo time to get to know Stephen and have photos for the events around the wedding. Stephens photography was excellent, affordable and he was a delight to work with. We would definitely recommend him for your wedding or event!
