Southern Exposure is a barn and farm wedding venue located in Battle Creek, Michigan, which was originally built in 1839. An ideal choice for those seeking a countryside wedding, this setting is brimming with natural beauty and cultivated charm. With both indoor and outdoor spaces to host the festivities, you can truly enjoy the day here, surrounded by loved ones and romantic views.
Facilities and Capacity
Join together in matrimony with your significant other outdoors in the pretty gardens at Southern Exposure, as you celebrate two lives coming together. Out on the lawn, you can join arm-in-arm as you stand proudly in front of the floral pergola to say your vows. After the rings have been exchanged and you have both said ‘I do’, your guests can mark the occasion with flashes of light, clicks of their cameras, and rapturous applause.
Beautifully colorful petals can be strewn along the grass as your makeshift aisle, while your guests watch on with a mixture of pride, love, and heartfelt emotion.
Elsewhere outside, the couple of honor and some of their guests can pose for photos among the colorful, fragrant flowers or take a stroll around the property. Once you have preserved some of the memories to display on your mantelpiece in the weeks and months that follow, you can make your way to the gazebo/canopy.
Here, sheltered from the elements, your guests can sit on folding deck chairs as they chatter around linen-covered tables. Plants, flowers, and ornaments add splashes of vibrancy here and there as everyone settles in for the evening. In the adjacent canopy, a head table can be set up for the happy couple and some of the wedding party or family members to take a seat.
The red corn crib is another one of the spaces that adds to the overall appeal of this venue.
There are a variety of wedding packages available at Southern Exposure. Their standard option includes wedding party suites, tables, chairs, use of the sound system, champagne flutes, setup, cleanup, and a great deal more.
Additionally, they can offer bar packages where staff can serve a range of beverages such as wine, beer, cognac, and more.
The venue is also willing to arrange a number of consultations - both with the wedding coordinator and the culinary chef.
The wedding-day meal is surely one of the most important aspects of the day. That's why Southern Exposure pours a lot of effort into making it as good as possible. Honey-roasted chicken breast, scallops wrapped in bacon, and more can be made available to please a plethora of palates. That is why Southern Exposure offer a variety of wedding menu options such as hors d’oeuvres, served dinners, entree buffets, as well as combination buffets.

Best wedding I could have asked for!
I had my wedding at Southern Exposure last weekend and it was amazing! The coordinator, Mi Suk, was on top of everything and I didn’t have to stress about anything all day! The decorations were absolutely stunning - all done by the venue. The coordinator, DJ, food, and bar service were all a part of the venue package. We didn’t have to worry about packing anything up at the end of the night because the coordinator took care of it! The servers were very professional and friendly, and treated me and my husband like royalty. It truly was the best wedding I could have asked for and this venue is the reason it was as amazing as it was! Not to mention it is also absolutely gorgeous, and so well-kept! Not only are the gardens gorgeous, but there are interesting decorations everywhere!Sent on 09/18/2019

The Perfect Venue for Your Special Day!
We cannot express how perfect this venue is! The owners, Ken and Jennifer and the wedding coordinator, Mi Suk went above and beyond to make our wedding day beautiful and stress free. We didn't have to worry about anything! On our wedding day, all we had to was show up and Mi Suk took care of everything else. We were able to enjoy every moment of the day. The planning process was a breeze because the venue has an on site chef, DJ, officiant, florist, and liquor license. The DJ and officiant are included in the wedding package. It was so nice because, we didn't have to stress about hiring and coordinating different vendors and services for the day. We didn't even have to set up or clean up. At the end of the evening, the staff literally loads up your car so you can go from your last dance directly to your car. The venue is beautiful, so you don't have to spend extra money on decorations or fluff. You don't even need to buy or make signs for your ceremony or reception area. A group of staff is onsite the day of to direct and help guests. We cannot say enough positive things about Southern Exposure, the owners, wedding coordinator, and staff! Thank you Southern Exposure for making our wedding day a perfectly unforgettable day!Sent on 08/18/2019

My wife and I got married at Southern Exposure in early summer 2019. The setting was unforgettable. The flowers were in full bloom, the grounds were manicured to perfection, and the staff was attentive to our every need. There was not a single detail unaccounted for.Sent on 08/16/2019
The ceremony took place outside under overcast skies. The thought of rain on our wedding day began creeping in, but to our pleasure the rain held off. Our wedding coordinator, Misuk, was on top of the preparations. She was extremely helpful ensuring everyone in our wedding party knew when to walk up to the alter and exactly where to stand. The ceremony went off without a hitch.
The rain crept in shortly after the reception began; however, the dance floor and all the tables had plenty of cover. The food was delicious, and this was confirmed by all of the empty plates left behind. Misuk and the rest of the staff did a great job keeping the reception on schedule.
We had countless guests tell us that it was the best wedding that they had ever been to. My wife and I may be a little biased (or very biased) but we could not agree more. We recommend Southern Exposure to anyone looking for wedding in the greater Michigan area.
