1. From the minute she showed up at our venue, she was responsive, caring, and smiling. She had us at ease and laughing all day. Our guests loved her and we loved her. Your photographer is literally following you around all day, in some of your most intimate moments. Personality/character matters.

2. Sonja captured every important moment, both big and small. My partner and I look like rockstars in her photos—and that is never something either of us have experienced. The photos have energy and soul to them, and I just want to show them to everyone.

3. Inclusivity. It was so important to us as a queer couple to work with someone who we felt like would really see us. Sonja‘s website was one of the only photography websites we found in southern Oregon who celebrated queer/LGBTQ couples. And from the first email exchange, she never made us feel like any less than we are.

One could say you get a unicorn, but one would be wrong. What you get, in fact, is Sonja K Photography. From the word "go," Sonja was our partner and our collaborator, getting to know my husband and I in a way that allowed her to capture the true essence of our relationship. The engagement shoot was a great "getting to know you" opportunity, wherein we found each other's rhythms and we connected with Sonja's style, direction, and vision. In doing so, and through all incredible communication in between, we came into the wedding as old friends. Sonja gabbed with us girls as she captured gorgeous, funny, poignant moments. She cozied up to family members while immortalizing perfect memories. When we received our sneak peek my husband and I were absolutely floored. Her style and execution are second-to-none; it's clear she's a true master of her craft, and a humble, wonderful human anyone would be lucky to partner alongside for any of their special occasions.

In addition to our engagement and wedding, I also worked with Sonja for a boudoir shoot, and I have to say it was the most comfortable, truly fun and empowering experience I've ever had. Sonja's professionalism and innate warmth washed away any nerves I had. The images she captured are real, GORGEOUS, and reflect me in a way I'm proud to embrace.

Sonja is the best! She made us feel so calm and comfortable. The pictures turned out amazing. We had a small ceremony one night and a big party the next night. Sonja was there for both nights to take pictures. The candids that she took were incredible and we didn’t even notice her taking them. She captured every detail!

Working with Sonja is an absolute dream! She is equal parts professional, silly, and down to Earth. We loved working with Sonja for our engagement photos this summer, as it let us get to know her a bit better before our wedding day in October. We absolutely loved having Sonja and Max shoot our completly non-traditional wedding. We didn’t follow any of the wedding rules and just wanted our family and friends to have a great day. They were meeting for the first time the day of the wedding and we were pretty nervous. Sonja made us feel so comfortable. Her energy was exactly what we needed on our big day. She was calm and goofy and fun and she made us feel great! None of the photos were staged with awkward poses. We loved the natural, candid style that she shot in. She was able to portray some pretty special and intimate moments in a beautifully artistic way.

Everything felt so natural and she was excited with every shot she got which made us feel great that our pictures were coming out so fantastic- which they did!! She made us feel really special about the way our day was being captured on film.

Sonja is one of the most beautiful and talented human beings I've come to know. We couldn't be happier with our choice of Sonja and Max as our wedding photographers! Even though they are based in Fort Collins, Sonja was flexible and able to meet us closer to where we live in Denver and on Skype and they have some online tools to make the planning process easy.
