Something Events is a wedding and events coordination and design company based in Long Beach, CA. Although the company was just founded in 2012, we've been involved in weddings and other events since 2010. Our design style is a bit vintage and a bit rustic, but we are also so inspired by modern design. We are always trying to do something new, while staying true to us. Weddings are our passion, but we love all events!

Something-Events provided great day-off coordination for our wedding! My fiance and I enjoyed our planning meetings with Sara and the team. The team was friendly, organized and helped us think through some last minute details. The day of the wedding, family and friends were truly impressed by how professional and responsive the coordinators were. They helped put up some decorations at the venue, coordinate the ceremony, worked well with other vendors and also helped the bride when needed. Overall, we highly recommend Something-Events for event planning and coordination services!!

Our wedding could not have been such a success without Sara, Nicole and her team coordinating all details. We really appreciated their tremendous attention to detail; they brought up issues and thoughts that we had never previously considered. But those details made all the difference on the day-of. They truly went to any lengths necessary to make sure that we could enjoy ourselves without worrying about any logistics.

Not to mention that they were highly responsive to all inquiries and requests. We had three in-person meetings with Sara and Nicole leading up to the event that helped clarify any doubts that we had; these sessions in a way also doubled as therapy for our wedding anxieties. They even found a way to trim down the initial estimated budget by being resourceful!

What a joy to work with. We could not have been happier with Something Events and highly recommend them for anyone looking wedding coordinators in the Southern California area.

I had the pleasure to work with Sara, Nicole and Stacy. They were awesome! I couldn't be happier. I hire Sara and her team for the day of coordinator. They took over everything a month before my wedding. The day of my wedding I got to enjoy every minute of it because I knew Something Events had everything covered. They are the nicest people and very easy to work with. Thank you so much Sara, Nicole and Stacy!!

Sara and her team were fantastic. They set the right tone which was professional but warm and accommodating. She listened intently to all my concerns and was able to fulfill all the necessary planning and coordination without much advance notice, all the while being 8 months pregnant!

It was important that Sara work well with my daughter and her fiance and make sure all their needs and wishes were granted in a calm and competent way, although we had very little time to make decisions before the wedding day.

When the initial excitement of wedding planning wore off, we found ourselves with a growing to-do list and shrinking amounts of time. A friend suggested we bring in additional help. Despite our reluctance to reach outside the circle of family and friends, we contacted Something Events. Without haste, Sara and her team swooped in and saved us. They organized all our emails, invoices, and loose post-its -- bringing our plans to fruition. Not only were they wonderfully professional, but also genuine and relaxed. Sara and her team never felt like "handlers". With their support we floated through our wedding day. Something Events had more than everything covered, leaving us to live in the moment.

Sara and Nicole were amazing wedding planners! My husband and I wanted a low key wedding that was within a certain budget, and they were able to work with our needs and provide us with wonderful service. We had some pretty vague ideas about what we wanted as a theme (camping, BBQ), and they worked with us to develop the theme that represented us best (tailgating, haha!). As corny as that may sound, they made it into a classy event, with decorations that included team pennants, mason jar drinks, beer/wine bottles as flower holders, and hay bales for sitting on. They also made sure to have our input at every step of the way to make sure it was the right wedding for us!

They also were able to organize/plan out having a backyard wedding, rather than just the typical venue. It took some creative thinking about how to coordinate it all, but they did a wonderful job with that.

Sara was great with connecting us with vendors that met our budget demands. On top of that, she even set up Skype meetings with our photographer (Lydia at EyeRecap, also amazing!), since my husband and I live out of state. Couldn't ask for better service from a wedding planner!

Sara and Nicole were really able to meet us where we were and make it into such an unforgettable wedding.

Sara was prompt to respond to emails when we contacted her prior to the wedding. She was very knowledgeable and was able to find great deals on items we needed for the wedding (i.e. candles and table runners) which helped us stay within our budget. Her team arrived on time and began working diligently as soon as they arrived. Her team was helpful and resourceful and created beautiful table settings and even put up huge drapery in the venue. Sara created everything exactly as we envisioned!

Sara Geiss and her team did an incredible job as the Day of Coordinators for my daughter's wedding in Sept. The church and the reception site each had their own "coordinators" so I almost didn't book a DoC but I am SOOOOO glad that I did and that it was Sara & team.
They provided all of the services that DoCs are supposed to provide but what I really loved about them was their calming demeanor and thorough attention to detail. Every DoC I contacted, which was many, told me that I would have nothing to worry about, that they would take care of everything. But Sara was different, she simply exuded serene competence from start to finish. I cannot give anyone a higher recommendation than I give to Something Events, Sara Geiss and team.

Sara and her team of planners went above and beyond to make our down home DIY wedding THE BEST WEDDING I'VE EVER BEEN TO! And that's saying something, as I've been a wedding professional myself for the past 12 years. My partner and I wished to do most of our own planning, but knew that we didn't want to set up, clean up, or be the contact people for vendors on our wedding day. I had worked with Sara on a past wedding and saw how flawlessly she and her team worked together, with big smiles and zero stress. She quoted us a fair a la carte price for the work we needed done and then went on to exceed our expectations.

I have recommended her to all of my couples since, even if they think they can handle a simple DIY wedding. Hiring a planner is the best way to reduce your hectic planning stress, and without hesitation I give Sara and Something Events my highest recommendation.

Sara and Nicole did an incredible job with our wedding. They went above and beyond our expectations. We of course received the list of what would be included with our package, but were floored by how much constant attention was given to our wedding. My husband and I would regularly wake up to friendly emails outlining vendor quotes, to-do lists, and schedules, all of which Something Evenets put so much time into.

We were initially on the fence about hiring someone to coordinate the wedding. We are major DIYers and were confident in our ability to craft our own wedding (of only 50 people). However, we hired Sara and Nicole about 2 months before the wedding and we cannot stop saying how glad we are that we did, as in, I am scared to think how it would have been without them.

Something Events immediately took over all of our vendor relations, found quotes on everything from limos to ice (yes we had to buy ice!), made personalized schedules, and designed and hand crafted a killer dessert table, all while being totally responsive, accessible and friendly. We had such constant communication that my husband and I now miss talking to them. On the day of the wedding they were calm and in control, they showed up early, picked up last minute items from my house, met all the vendors, set up all decorations, directed everyone through the day-of with total ease, packed up decorations and stayed until the last minute of our venue rental. We couldn't be happier with Something Events. They took away so much wedding-related stress. Oh and did I mention their rates are super competitive?
