When we were planning our wedding, one of the main things we wanted to prioritize was videography. We did a lot of research on different vendors in the NJ/PA/NY area, and after meeting with Tom, we instantly vibed with his storytelling approach. Through our Adventure Shoot, Rehearsal Dinner, and Wedding Day, Tom captured who we are as a couple in an incredibly authentic way. To begin, if you’re on the fence about getting a videographer for your wedding, I hope this review convinces you to do it. While your photos will also capture your special moments, without video you’ll have to rely on your memory to recall the details you won’t find in photos - the voices of your friends and family, the words you spoke that day, the replay of your first kiss, maid of honor speech, or father-daughter dance. The value of a video only grows over time, as your memory will fade but the video will always be able to bring you right back, as ours did when we watched it for the first time this week. Now, onto Solidity Films and its owner/videographer Tom Harmon. When my wife and I met him in his studio in Philly, we knew within the first few minutes that he was our guy. The quality of his videos speaks for itself - if you haven’t watched the ones on his website yet, do that now. You know Tom is a great filmmaker when the video of a complete stranger’s wedding can bring you to tears. But what really sold us on Tom was his personality. He has a heart of gold and genuinely cares about getting to know his couples and their families and friends. In fact, he won’t take on clients that just want a transactional relationship. Tom’s videos are all authentic portrayals of the couple’s love story, and in order to tell your story accurately, he needs to get to know you as people. What I love about Tom is that it never felt like business, it felt like friendship. When the wedding rolled around and Tom showed up at our rehearsal dinner, it felt like he was one of our guests and just happened to be holding a camera. On the day of the wedding, Tom’s calming, gentle presence helped keep any stress at bay and he kept reminding me to live in the moment. The value he added to our wedding was not limited to the moments he captured on film and the beautiful video he created, and we greatly miss working with him now that our wedding is over. There are not enough good things I can say about Tom, I’ll let you find out the rest for yourself should you choose to work with him!

Tom and his team at Solidity are incredibly talented storytellers and filmmakers. We just got our film this past weekend and my wife and I are so in awe at how he captured us, our families, our voices and energy and how our love culminated on our wedding day. Videography was not something I was interested in. I had seen videos before of weddings that were overproduced and corny. So when my wife asked if I was interested in having a videographer, I was not interested. My wife asked me to watch some of Solidity’s videos and then decide if I wasn’t interested and I went along with it. After watching films though, my mind had completely changed.

I had no idea that a wedding video could be so incredibly beautiful, moving, and emotional without being corny. The style of the videos coupled with the music choices matched our preferences perfectly and I know that if we were going to have a videographer it was going to be Solidity Films.

Once we decided to move forward with Solidity Films, we met virtually with Tom, then grabbed a drink in person, and then he accompanied us on an “adventure shoot” in FDR park where he filmed us riding our bikes and me stuffing my face full of delicious Southeast Asian cuisine. We felt completely comfortable working with Tom and at ease as he had the camera on us during our adventure in FDR and even more so during the wedding. He would ask very little of us when filming, instead trying to capture things as they occurred instead of recreating them which perfectly meshed with what we wanted.

Tom was incredibly kind and comforting to work with. He is a kind and sweet man — we felt truly at ease working with him and felt supported by him before our wedding and during it. He would always counsel us to take our time and just be present and in the moment. We booked him just a few months before our wedding, which had already been moved around and rescheduled several times due to the pandemic and amid all of the stress, he was truly a wonderful and beautiful person to work with. Calm, collected and encouraging. He was also flexible with us and our budget and was incredibly thoughtful throughout the entire process and so incredibly generous. He dropped us flowers for us after our adventure shoot and chocolates the night he delivered our video. If you are looking for a film that captures your relationship, your love and not just your wedding day, hire Tom. You will not regret it.

The Solidity team made our experience so incredibly wonderful and our wedding day went seamlessly with their help. Solidify Films far exceeded our expectations TWICE! We had two daughters get married within ten months and Tom Harmon delivered excellence both times. We knew we wanted a wedding film from the start. It really allowed us to be present during our wedding, knowing that all the speeches, special moments and little details would be captured and preserved for us to relive years after our wedding was over. It was an investment that we will enjoy for the rest of our lives.

We looked at many videographers. As a creative director who often makes films for a living, I was very picky. Tom was the only one I found who told a STORY. Almost every single other videographer did a great job capturing the day in sequential order, but no one really weaved and edited the film, speeches and events into a story that captured our relationship, our day and our marriage.

We could not have been more happy with our film. I have watched it dozens of times and every single time it brings tears to my eyes. It was worth every penny not only for me, but all our family as well. Every person who has watched our film says it’s hands down the best one they’ve ever seen.

Tom could not be easier or nicer to work with. We trusted him completely after seeing his approach, and he did a perfect job. He was like a fly on the wall, capturing video in the most genuine, authentic way. Nothing felt staged or directed, because it really never was. We were comfortable and happy the whole day and he worked seamlessly with our photographers.

I can’t recommend solidity and Tom enough. He’s not only an incredible videographer, he’s also a talented editor and storyteller which makes all the difference. If you are looking for authentic, unscripted, beautiful documentation of your day...If you want a film that does more than just show what happened and goes the next step to tell the story of your wedding day and it’s significance...this is the team for you. We couldn’t be happier with our choice or the result.

I’m not 100% sure how we found Tom & Solidity Films, but I think it was stalking the different wedding venue locations on Instagram. I remember that short clip and the feeling it gave me of knowing that was the type of video I would want for our wedding day. There was something so powerful about the video and made me feel like I knew the couple and could feel their love through the clip. From the first call with Tom I knew he was the videographer for us; he is kind, open to new ideas, creative, and truly makes you feel like you and your special day is the most important thing to him at that moment. Tom wanted to know who my husband and I were, what our interests are, about our family and our relationship with them, and used this information to capture our day and what is most important to us. Soon after the first call my now husband and I met up with Tom for drinks and talked for hours; I appreciated this interview/get to know you but there was no doubt in my mind that we wouldn’t be using Solidity Films for some capacity of our wedding.

Fast forward the next few months, Tom would check in to see how we were doing we had a couple more meetings as well as had us fill out a questionnaire where he asked about the things we were looking forward to at our wedding, top things we wanted captured, music, etc. After our last in person meeting my husband and I felt a sadness because we knew how much we had enjoyed these meetings with Tom. We also relied on Tom for suggestions with the timeline for the day which helped us while meeting with the venue to make sure the day stayed ours and not a timeline we were not comfortable with. During our discussions, planning, and day of Tom did not let us forget that this is our day and we needed to spend time together. It is something that everyone tells you, but it was something we wanted to make sure we prioritized while making the timeline of the day and we are thankful we did.

Tom has this confident and genuine demeanor that makes you feel relax. He came to our house before our rehearsal dinner to start to capture and it calmed us down and let us hang out with each other but also a friend before the madness began. But he can do this while also fading into the day and you not realizing someone is following you around videoing you.

The six-month wait for the video was so exciting to us, as the wedding excitement faded and as our lives got back to normal, we still had this video to look forward to. We were so eager to see the moments Tom captured and how he would piece the footage together to help tell our story. Once we received it we knew that it was worth every day of the wait; we were in awe watching the video and played it on repeat for at six times in a row. With each time finding a new moment captured, picking up on the song, or the clips he matched to each voiceover. The thoughtfulness behind those smallest details is the best way to describe Tom. He listens and he cares while also being the most talented guy in the room. He takes the time to make the video so personal to the couple and not just edit as many as he can per year. We were so excited to share the video with our family and friends but for the time we kept it before sharing was such a neat feeling because we knew it was ours and this special piece of our special day that we had to cherish ourselves. But when we went to our families and showed them in person their reactions were unbelievable, there were tears, multiple repeats, and huge smiles bringing back so man wonderful memories.

There are truly no words to describe Tom. My husband and I found a friendship in him that we didn’t feel as deeply with any other vendor. On top of just being an awesome person there is something that sets him apart from almost all other videographers I’ve seen through my searches. If you are looking for something jaw dropping, something timeless, something that captures your wedding as your love story and more than just a party than Tom is your guy. I am jealous of all new couples that get to experience that first meeting with Tom and the video delivery. We are still watching our wedding video as well as the ceremony and reception video weekly and it brings us such joy. I know we are biased but Tom’s work is by far the best I’ve ever seen and I will always recommend him as a vendor to any recently engaged couple.
