I found Thomas' work on social media from another friends wedding. From the first meeting to engagement photos to my two day wedding, he was absolutely awesome. It was extremely important to me that myself and my husband connected with our photographer to ensure the best photos. Thomas captured every detail of our wedding, and all the candid moments in between. My pictures are absolutely stunning. Thank you Thomas for your amazing talent!!

One of the best photographers out there. Photos are fantastic and prominently displayed in our home. Thomas was very helpful throughout the process for the many questions and requests we had! Our engagement photos came back really fast in about 2 weeks and were featured in a magazine! The wedding photos took a little bit longer but there were many more than the first shoot. Thomas is brilliant. He is truly a master of his craft. I had a hard time explaining to my husband (prior to meeting Thomas) why pictures of our wedding were so important. After our engagement session with Thomas, I did not have to do anymore explaining or whining. My husband was that impressed with Thomas' work and work ethic. His work is artistic and not your typical wedding photography. Thomas is also very easy to get to know, so he listens to your wants for both the engagement shoot and the day of the wedding, although, I would trust his judgement as he has a keen eye for what works and what doesn't. He is readily available if you have any questions at any point during the planning process, which makes things extremely easy if you are planning a wedding. I can't possibly describe how great he truly is -- but his work speaks for itself.

I was a bit worried about booking a photographer I had not met in person (destination wedding) but he made me feel at ease and the whole process was amazing. I could not be happier with the end result and have recommended him to many of my friends and family for their events. My husband and I hired Thomas Slack for our December 2018 wedding and we are absolutely thrilled with the photos. Thomas is cool and fun to work with and makes you feel comfortable during shoots, and we were just blown away when we saw the gorgeous photos he took. I spent the whole night thinking he wasn't around much, but it turns out he's just completely non intrusive and actually captured every moment. I've been to weddings where it felt like cameras were in people's faces all the time; this couldn't have been further from the case with Thomas. He managed to get all the little moments that were so dear to us - we're so thrilled that we worked with him!

We used Thomas for our 4/28/2012 wedding and could not have asked for a better experience. We live out of town and we found Thomas through other reviews and lists, reviewed his website along with a few others. We had one trip to Chicago to visit and really liked Thomas' style, personality and philosophy and of course his photos. We really wanted to go w/ an independent photographer and not a studio so we knew we would pay a little more. I still think the price was reasonable for 8 hours, two shooters and DVD of all the photos, engagement shoot, etc. Being out of town, we never quite linked up with Thomas for an engagement shoot. Thomas was always responsive to our emails and phone calls. On the big day, everyone arrived on time and was great to work with. I hate getting my picture taken and had a headache-Thomas made me feel great and relaxed. We never felt rushed or forced as we were taking photos. Thomas worked with our requirements of some skyline and picasso. He knew exactly what would work with the partly cloudy, chilly, windy weather to get us the best photos. At the reception we could tell they were capturing all the moments but we never felt like we had cameras in our face. We received all the photos and they are great. We have received many compliments and could not be more please with our choice.

My wife and I immediately liked Thomas when we met him for coffee in Logan Square to discuss our wedding. He was calm, collected and made both of us feel comfortable. We liked that he asked good questions yet didn't over think things. And his photo catalog and reviews were impressive. Hired, hired, hired!

The engagement photo shoot went great (and we liked the photos when we got them a couple weeks later) and at the wedding Thomas and his assistant were good natured and seemingly in the right places at the right time.

This is, unfortunately, where my praise for Thomas ends. Getting the actual photos from him was an unpleasant headache. After the wedding, Thomas told us that it would take "6 to 8 weeks" to get the photos. After eight weeks passed with no photos, I left Thomas a polite voicemail inquiring about their status. Thomas responded acting incredibly annoyed as if we were being unreasonable to ask for something we paid $3,500 for. He said it was "out of his hands" and being uploaded on a server. If this is his full time job, shouldn't he know how long the process takes?

When I raised my concerns, he immediately dismissed them and changed his story, saying that to six to eight weeks was an "estimate" and that we would get them "soon." We finally received them about a month later.Thomas blamed the Postal Service for the delay.

Of course, the time in which it took Thomas to send us the photos is not the issue. While we would have liked to receive the photos by the date Thomas said he'd deliver them, getting them late would have been a non-issue if Thomas had been professional about it. Instead, he was rude, evasive, refused to hear our concerns, and never accepted responsibility for anything. He left us with the feeling that we were no longer his concern since he already had our money. The word 'sorry' was never uttered.

If the photos were amazing it may have been worth the hassle. But they were not great and in our opinion not worth the money we paid
