Cakes by Jae is known for her amazingly moist cakes and famous Italian buttercream frosting. I knew I couldn't go wrong choosing Jae for our wedding day. She created a beautiful 4 tiered wedding cake adorned with ribbon and fresh flowers with alternating layers of raspberry and lemon custard filling. I thought we'd have a ton left over, but we didn't. She even gifted us an anniversary cake certificate so we'd have a mini cake to enjoy on our 1st anniversary. We highly recommend Simply Cakes by Jae!

If I could give Jae 0 stars, I absolutely would. We stay in cannon beach every year as a family, obviously the right choice for our wedding destination. Going in last July trying her cupcakes, we decided to use Jae for our cake and cupcakes for the wedding this August. I also saw the best reviews and some amazing pictures off of her website. We emailed back and forth, me sending her pictures of what exactly I wanted. She explained she COULD do the designs I wanted. Colors and everything. I kept in touch with her every couple of months making sure everything was going to go smoothly and I sent her the pictures 3 times to be exact. Being 8 hours away I was a little skeptical not being able to see any designs made. She made me feel comfortable, and I trusted she knew what exactly I was looking for. Everything together was almost $300. Thinking with the price being so much, everything would turn out perfect! We received the cupcakes on Thursday (my wedding day) and I couldn't believe what I was looking at. The cake had nothing on it but frosting, which looked like was slopped on in 5 minutes. The cake was supposed to have shells and starfish on it. The cupcakes looked nothing like the design I had showed her. Those looked even worse. Everything looked like it was put together in maybe an hour. It looked very rushed and like they didn't even try to make them look decently good. We had ordered chocolate cupcakes with a caramel filling, the ones we received didn't have any filling at all! Everything in her store in the display cases are gorgeous. Even a sign inside the store says "all cupcakes have filling". What I had gotten for my wedding was crap. We went in Saturday, to try to get an explanation to why the cake and cupcakes looked the way they did. Jae wasn't only defensive, but very rude. She told us "she didn't have time to deal with this". I can't believe the way she treated us for being the shop owner. i do not recommend her at all!!!!

My niece just had her wedding in Astoria and had ordered and pre-paid a large order of cupcakes (in lieu of a wedding cake) for the event from Simply Cakes By Jae. Incredibly, the order was not delivered to the wedding, leaving my niece with no wedding cake for her guests on her most important day! To make matters worse, Simply Cakes By Jae made absolutely no attempt to contact my niece or her family to explain why the delivery was not made, or that there were any problems. They just did not show up and deliver a paid order! Unbelievable!

My advice to anyone thinking of using Simply Cakes By Jae for any upcoming event - do not trust them!
