DJ Burton is THE BEST. There were literally several instances in the middle of our dance party where my friends and I looked at each other and mouthed "holy shit he's amazing".

To me, finding music for our wedding was the most difficult task because unlike other vendors, you don't really know what you're going to get (unless you've been to a wedding with the vendor). That is to say - there's no instagram post or youtube clip or photo that does it justice. So without any references (we didn't know anyone who had gotten married recently in south FL)...I set off to find a band or DJ who had three qualities: (1) Ability to corral people, make announcements, etc. (2) Ability to read a room, get people moving and play good music to our taste and (3) Responsible and communicative vendor. Often times you'll get a DJ who plays a great set, but they're awful at speaking and making announcements. Other times it's the opposite.

When I saw DJ BJ (Burton)'s background, I knew he was our best chance to get all three. He is a radio DJ on the weekends (ability to make announcements and interact with strangers), he plays at Miami clubs at night (can read a room and play good music), and he is the owner of Shutdown Productions (professional and reliable).

He way exceeded all our expectations by a landslide. Because I had some other vendor issues the week of, I didn't have much time to micromanage DJ BJ....and with the little information I provided Burton...wow. His ability to adjust on the fly (because no wedding goes exactly the way it's planned), the music he played, his ability to seamlessly transition one song to another, his clear communication with us. You won't be disappointed. I think we all wanted to bring him back with us to the after party, if only he didn't have to jet off and play at the club that evening :)

DJ BJ is a top notch professional. I know his business will go very far! Do yourself a favor and hire him.

DJ Burton absolutely exceeded our expectations. Even though we only had about 30 guests, he made it feel like a full-blown party - so many of our guests were out on the dance floor the entire night. He was fantastic at reading the room and took our spontaneous song requests with ease, keeping the energy high and the music on point. Leading up to the wedding he was incredibly professional and communicative, checking in with us regularly to make sure everything was in place. He also touched base with us at the start of the reception to confirm the flow of the night, which we really appreciated. We also opted for some of his extras- the smoke cloud, confetti, and the 360 photo booth - all of which were a huge hit with our guests and make the night feel extra special. Overall, DJ Burton is excellent at what he does. He's professional, talented, and truly knows how to elevate a celebration. Highly recommend!!

We hired Shut Down Productions for our wedding in Miami. We met with Burton over video before we signed with them and he was super friendly and willing to work within our budget. We were looking specifically for someone with knowledge of Caribbean music (soca, dancehall, reggae) and we found that here. They provided uplightling and 4 hours of DJ + MC services for our event. Before our event, they had us fill out a very detailed questionnaire for our music choices and Burton did a great job at taking our requests and blending Caribbean music with American music. The dancefloor was never empty and Burton kept the crowd hype all night! Thank you Shut Down Productions for an amazing, unforgettable night
