If you're even sort of thinking of booking Shelby, do it right now! I've been wanting this experience for years, but always put it off. I am so happy I finally booked it! Shelby immediately made me feel like we'd been friends forever and I was so comfortable. Her hair and makeup partner, Ryan, was amazing as well. Shelby gave clear direction for the photos and made me laugh the entire day. I never once felt judged or uncomfortable. Also, she's a creative powerhouse and I couldn't be more elated with the final product. She spent so much time making sure I loved the album layout and tried all sorts of tricks to get in as many photos as possible. I regret not doing this earlier and have plans for more photoshoots with Shelby as the years progress! For logistics, parking is plentiful and easy right near her studio. Tons of great places to grab a bite too. This was seriously the highlight of my summer and wedding planning journey!

I was inspired to do something SUPER out of my comfort zone as a wedding gift for my (soon-to-be) husband. I was at a total loss with how the process worked, how comfortable I would feel, and the quality of photos I would receive. I used to own a photography business so when I say I’m super picky with photos I mean— I am SUPER picky with my photos, editing, lighting, posing, whole 9 yards. Shelby’s website caught my eye from the get-go and after calling her and asking a million ridiculous questions I knew she would be the only person I would trust to see my butt. (Let’s get real here. That’s an actual thought process). Everything down from the posing, to her set up, and OH MY GOSH THE PHOTOS... I’m still in awe. The quality exceeded my expectations, she was so kind and fun during the process not once did I feel like “Holy crap this is uncomfortable I want to leave.” She’s honestly amazing and I’ll probably hire her about 50+ more times before I’m 80 and wrinkled. If you’re hesitating on booking, stop it and just do it. You won’t regret it.

I have been photographed by Shelby at Frill multiple times since 2011. I was a little nervous during my first session, but quickly became relaxed. Shelby truly makes you feel comfortable and feel empowered during your shoot. She has a great eye and her photos always come out looking amazing.

STOP LOOKING!!!!! Shelby is your girl. She made me feel so comfortable in front of the camera and gave tips on how to pose and smile. She is so fun, professional, and a true artist. Would use her a thousand times over.

I can't say enough good things at Shelby and her awesome photography skills. I found Shelby when searching online for photographers in my area, and once I viewed photos on her blog, I was hooked. We met with Shelby for a consultation and she was very open and honest, and answered all of our questions. After hiring her, she photographer our engagement session in Washington, DC and was very helpful in terms of figuring out a day-of timeline. She is very knowledgeable about the industry and we also loved that she had photographed at our location a few times before.

Shelby is always in reach, very flexible and has the expertise to really interpret the couple's vision well. She was professional and patient every step of the way, even when we were a challenge, which I know we were!
